I have a funny story about today's picture. It was, I believe, taken at a party which was also attended by Bob Dylan, who was just then ('74) re-entering the rock scene and was still legendary to the point of myth. When he entered the party, he went right up to Woody and told him how much he liked his new album , I've Got My Own Album To Do. (Actually, Woody & Bob's friendship dates from this party.) Everyone else at the party was green with envy - BOB DYLAN had complimented Woody, and ignored everyone else! Peter Grant, being a good PR man, decided that his boys (Led Zep) needed to get on the bandwagon, so he went up to Dylan and said, "I'm Peter Grant. I manage Led Zepplin". Bob squinted at him through his shades and said, "Look, I don't come to you with MY problems." |

No wonder Woody looks so smug.... |

It is a strange picture.
I wouldn't even recognize Ronnie.
And Grant looks like a Transvestite Chia Pet.

Woody looks more like Alice cooper in that pic! |

You know FPM, everyone says what a great poet Dylan is....many people fail to realise how fucking nasty funny he can be....shut you down with one sentence. |

Sometimes just fucking nasty, rather than fucking nasty funny. Such as - how'd you like to be the target of "Positively Fourth Street" or "Ballad of a Thin Man"? I've read Brian was afraid HE was Mr. Jones, that it really stirred up the old paranoia.
OR: how'd you like to be the person about whom he spat:
"You an idiot, babe. It's a wonder that ya still know how to breathe."
I guess most of the recent bios of Bob paint him as a guy capable of being a real bastard. Not that it matters much to me - he can insult me in a song ANY day!
