jb I read an article about this band in GQ last year...they seem very well rooted in rock-n-roll. I hope they come down south..

The Stealer I saw them at The Astoria in London last month for the fourth time, it was a really cool gig. I'm seeing them again at the Apollo in April.

For anyone who's interested, here's a gig review I posted on the net of their London show last month...

I saw KOL for the fourth time last night, blinding gig, not better than Hammersmith 2005 but it was still a very cool show.

I also went to the after show party at the Kabaret Prophecy, it cost me a score to get in but I met the drummer Nathan and the three Followill brothers' other brother Nacho, he's a sort of sound tech man and he was dead cool. Caleb, Matt and Jared were all in a the corner pissed and had the pick of pretty much any bird they wanted.

The setlist...

'Black Thumbnail'
'Taper Jean Girl'
'King Of The Rodeo'
'My Party'
'Soft'
'Molly's Chambers'
'Fans'
'Bucket'
'Milk'
'Mcfearless'
'Four Kicks'
'On Call'
'California Waiting'
'Spiral Staircase'
'Trani'
'Arizona'
'Charmer'
'Slow Night, So Long'

Sprial Staircase was amazing, along with Molly's. The new tunes also sounded very cool live, especially Mcfearless and Arizona.

Black Thumbnail was blinding to open up the set. But I was dissapointed with Slow Night, So Long being played to close the show out, I would much rather have had Trani at the end, but they played it about 3 or 4 from the end and as always it was fantastic.

Only downside was it was roasting in there and we were all a bit squashed. The band weren't too happy about having shoes and drink cans thrown at them either, I just can't work out why people do that to a band they like.

I'd give the gig 8.5/10

They should be even more in the groove when I see em at the Apollo in April.

TALK IS CHEAP Quote of the month:
"In England the quality of girls is very rough. In L.A. the quality is so much better"

There ya go, that was the Kings Of Leon bassist wiping out half their British fanbase.
