Eddie Van Halen Checks Into Rehab

The long awaited Van Halen reunion tour will be even longer-awaited -- Eddie Van Halen has checked himself into alcohol-related rehab.
In a statement to TMZ, the rock legend explains why he's determined to clean up his act:
I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Without you there is no Van Halen.
I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110% that I feel I owe you and want to give you.
Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better. I want you to know that is exactly what I'm doing, so that I may continue to give you the very best I am capable of.
I look forward to seeing you in the future better than ever and I thank you with all my heart.

Eddie was scheduled to join the rest of his bandmates at the Rock and Roll induction ceremony in New York on Monday, where Van Halen will be enshrined. But unlike Lindsay and Britney, Eddie will not be leaving rehab for field trips. |

There's no cure, it's a life long thing, treatable with viligance and relative little work compared to what you deal with being a tottally fucked up all the time...
Addiction is an equal oppurtunity disease, that's for certain...
Treatment is great, but if homeboy s like me, he needs AA... You can spend $10,000 dollars on a 30 day rehab, only in the end to find out AA is for free, and that's where the rehab tells you to go when you leave there. |

I have increased my life insurance by a million dollars, and consequently, had to have a liver function test. I don't drink very often anymore, so I suspect it will be within the normal ranges. The one problem, however, could be that I have to take narcotic painkillers on an "as needed" basis b/c of 3 herniated discs(one extruded on the thecal sac and L5 nerve root). This may cause an alleviation in liver function as the narcotics are , of course, metabolized by the liver. |

Its important to keep huge life insurance if you have kids and a stressful job. When I keel over in a few years from now, my wife and kids will be ultra-mega-millies. |

the best part was that it imploded before it even really began!! Fucking hilarious! Just days after they put it on the website!!! Just DAYS after the RS cover photo shoot... DAYS!!! - they fire Roth or he quit or whatever. Thats hilarious!! weeks before the big HOF reunion. Even. Too funny!!
