Jumping Jack, you lucky bastardo! Nice shots. Montreux 2005 is indeed the one to have. (I think that's where the Dwight youtube vid is from.)

Jumping Jack That's Toby Mamis Coop's road manager checking out Wendy's ass, LOL! Probably making sure she isn't a psycho trying to knife him. She brought Coop a big conatiner of halloween gummy worms and his favorite red vines and Toby was quite concerned they weren't poisoned. Hey, they guy used to work for Lennon and is very nice, but cautious.

Coop usually does about 20 meet and greets backstage after a show through the local NWAC affiliate. There were no meet and greets scheduled for Birmingham so we got the entire 20 mins on the bus. The best part is the look of crowd on the street as we climbed aboard, LOL!

Enjoy:

Navin Alright, here is something a bit unusual...links to pages with the complete Alice Cooper Comic Book!
(based on the 1978 'From The Inside' record)

Actually, both the autobiography "Me, Alice" and the bio "Billion Dollar Babies" books can be found downloadable online in text file format.

And yeah, I been a big fan for a long time, and by the way, even some of the 80s and 90s stuff like the 1991 'Hey Stoopid' record is great, esp. "Wind Up Toy"

guitarman53 I remember buying the "Killer" album around Xmas '71, & then the band was at Winter Pop New Years Eve '71, at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, I already knew all the songs, "Be My Lover" Halo Of Flies" "Under My Wheels" etc. I loved it when Alice did his May West on "Be MY Lover" he layed down on the stage & did a Mae West perfect, & during "Dead Babies" he did his thing with dolls, & then got hung in the gallows, a perfect theatrical concert, this is what I miss in Rock 'N' Roll, a concert to remember.

http://download.usenet-replayer.com/L/5/4/0/4/1196114045.29.doc

Hope it works, otherwise, I got the same file on the hard disk, also got all 16 chapters in text file format, and can mail them easily.

Sister Morphine I am so glad my father 'introduced' me to Alice Cooper's music when I was a little child. I didn't like it too much in the beginning, but in the past years I listened to lots of the albums etc. and I have liked him and his music ever since.
He's very original and that's cool.

guitarman53 The Original Alice Cooper in Concert.

8th March 2008 07:19 AM
Jumping Jack Steamhammer/SPV has announced the signing of rock icon Alice Cooper. Autumn 2008 will see the arrival of Cooper's eagerly awaited new studio album, which the legendary singer began recording in February. Tentatively titled "Along Came A Spider", the CD is being co-produced by Greg Hampton and Danny Saber in Los Angeles.

Cooper will interrupt the current studio production for March shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, and plans extensive touring later in 2008 covering Europe, Canada, and the USA. His band features longtime drummer Eric Singer, guitarists Keri Kelli and Jason Hook, and bassist Chuck Garric.

guitarman53 Maybe I'm just old, but I prefer the original Alice Cooper band, I know today he can hire the best musicians around, but all the old hits were written by the original band, when he does "No More Mister Nice Guy" it's Michael Bruce who wrote it, & Dennis Dunaway wrote so many too, his Bass playing is what Cooper's new hire's copy, I sort of wish he's do a tour with the original band (minus Glen Buxton) I'd certainly go to see that, but Alice Cooper with the new hires doesn't interest me.

Jumping Jack Pity, you are missing a great show and much great new material.

The original band was great, much like Mick Taylor was great, but not much on their own without the main attraction.

I can see what you mean, maybe I'm just old, but I used to go to concerts as early as '69 when the Cooper band played in Toronto, the band was as well known as the lead singer, they were 5 guys, & it was all involved as a band as opposed to a lead singer, Vincent Furnier wasn't that important, it's when the band broke-up, that he legally adopted the name, I liked "Welcome To My Nightmare" but after that, I never cared for it again, I guess Vincent Furnier wanted to be like a star like Bowie, instead of a bands name.

VoodooChileInWOnderl These pictures and interview posted by Tzonistac on our message board in Spanish, only the intro was written in Spanish so I translated it, the rest was posted in English:

Alice Cooper es un chingón.
Tuve la oportunidad de verlo como telonero de los Stones en Halifax, Nueva Escocia, en septiembre pasado y fue genial!

(Alice Cooper is fucking great I had the chance to see him as the opening act of the Stones in Halifax last September (2006) and he was great!)

Y en cuanto a su gusto por los Rolling Stones en esta entrevista habla sobre eso:

Alice Cooper has been a fan of the Rolling Stones for 40 years, dating back to his days at Cortez High School in northwest Phoenix, when he was known as Vincent Furnier.

His first band, the Earwigs and later the Spiders, played nothing but Stones songs in its early days, recalls Cooper, who will open for the rock legends when they play Wednesday in Glendale.

Although he has been friends with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood since the early '70s, Cooper says he's still flattered to be asked to open for three dates of the Stones' Bigger Bang Tour.

Cooper, 58, called last week to talk about the Stones.

It sounds as if your first two dates with the Stones, in Nova Scotia and Kentucky, were wet.

Nova Scotia was unbelievable. The only way I could get it across is: Go in your shower, turn it on and stand in it for an hour. I've never been that wet in my life. It was cold, too. Then we go into Louisville and we got nailed again.

Do you know some of the Stones better than others?

I've known all those guys for a long time. Keith refuses to call me Alice; he calls me Vince. He goes (in a low Richards purr), "Vinnie, Vinnie." And I swear he's Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp's character in Pirates of the Carribean). He sounds exactly like Johnny Depp, but, of course, Johnny Depp got that from him. Mick is perfectly together all the time, and so is Charlie. Ronnie has always got the energy up, always ready to play.

Were the Stones your biggest influence?

Any rock band that has a guitar in their hands was influenced by the Beatles or the Stones. I don't care if it's Shakira, the Association, Cradle of Filth or Tony Bennett, everybody's got a Beatles or Stones influence somewhere.

Did you steal any moves from Jagger as a teenager?

For anybody who's a lead singer, he was the prototype. He was the first one who broke away from the band and became the lead singer. So for the Steven Tylers, Ozzy Osbournes and Alice Coopers of the world, he was our blueprint.

What are your three favorite Stones songs?

Brown Sugar is probably the best rock song they ever did. I like the early stuff, Spider and the Fly . . . and Gimme Shelter.

Favorite albums?
I love 12 X 5, England's Newest Hitmakers and Aftermath. I liked it when the Beatles did Magical Mystery Tour and they did Their Satanic Majesties Request, when they got into the acid stuff.

What's the biggest challenge of playing in a stadium?

You have to exaggerate everything. If I make a move that would normally be a small one onstage, I have to make it three times bigger because it's got to play to the guy in the back of the 60,000 people who are there.

Will you invite the Stones to a meal at Alice Cooper'stown in Phoenix?

Absolutely. But they might get back on their planes and go right back to LA after the show.

Saludos!

Jumping Jack Coop is a very humble man and loves the Stones. When I spoke with him in Birmingham last fall I told him that I thought he blew the Stones off the stage in Louisville and he was quick to point out that they did a good show but no one blows the Stones off the stage.

He also mentioned that by the time they got to Phoenix the Stones understood what was going on before them and really stepped up their game!

Coop has never hidden his influences and his shows rock harder now than the 70s. Well worth $40-50 for a theater show, the best value in rock IMHO.
