Nellcote I caught him on Larry King the other night.
I actually got a kick out of him.
Brutally frank about his raging booze, drug addiction.
I was impressed about the money he's raised for Aids over 16 years.
When he spoke of John Lennon, I recalled vividly the press at the time about the '74 MSG show when Lennon came on stage with him. I then played vastly overlooked Empty Garden, the song he tributed to Lennon. I can handle EJ in moderation...

They are ALL a bunch of diva's. Don't really take sides in any of their personal spats.

Last night, more Iron Maiden, My Sister's Machine, Ramones.

Cool mon. I've been on a major Marley kick since hearing this guy's Feb. 3 show: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/RS - in which he played mostly the older, pre-Island material that I had never heard before: Freedom Time, Soul Rebel, Caution, Lick Samba, Gonna Get You, Hammer, Cheer Up - great stuff. Even the mostly ska Studio One tunes grew on me after a while - reminds me in a way of the first couple Stones albums - rough around the edges but the energy and conviction are there.

Following a lil' trip to the CD store, been listening to:

One Love at Studio One 1964-1966
Soul Rebels
The Essential Bob Marley and the Wailers (from Trojan/Sanctuary - EXCELLENT 2-CD set)
127 King Street
Burnin'
Live!
Uprising
Natural Mystic
