Thanks to Harold, he sent me that and other images to share with you all. He is adding new batches to his website, one of the best researches of one of the best tours. His website is not just a bunch of images all together is a real research just take a look.

BTW Nellcote... Lucky bastard you were there

lotsajizz I live a few miles from the Warwick airport (mistakenly listed as PVD on airport/airline systems) where the Glimmer Twins were busted before that show. A seething Garden crowd fired up Boston's mayor to get 'em arraigned quickly with Stones hiring local counsel, and then a State Police escort to the show, sirens blaring up I-95. Poor Stevie Wonder was into his third hour of music before a none too happy crowd. But announcements were made and the Stones eventually arrived. I think they went on stage at--Nellcote would know better--about 1:30 AM?

Gazza That was the night before, Sean, I think (18.7.72)

Bob Greenfield's STP'72 book gives a great eyewitness account of it as was right there in the jail with them. They did indeed go onstage at some ungodly hour, some five hours late.

If I remember right from the book, Mayor White went onstage at Boston Garden, told the increasingly impatient crowd that Mick and Keith were in jail and just before they had the chance to tear the place apart, hit them with the punchline that he had got them out and they were on their way. Now that he had the crowd on his side, he asked them to behave as there were (unconnected) riots across town and he needed to re-deploy a large amount of cops who were on duty at the concert.

yup, Gazza--as usual about Stones--is right---I am describing 7-18-72 as I never miss an excuse to toss in Rhode Island's little contribution to Stones lore....I got the date wrong

stoneslib You're very kind, Voodoo.

Speaking of the infamous delayed 1st Boston show, somewhere I have a pic of Keith onstage there and you can see the Garden clock behind him read 12:47 (am). The show ran from approx. 12:45 to 2:00 am.

And, BTW, there are at least 3 press reviews of the 1st show that cite the Stones as playing YCAGWYW. The available tape lacks that number, and it's generally assumed by listeners that the band skipped it because of fatigue. But maybe the tape is missing a song.
