Topic: Exile on Main Street Sessions Return to archive
26th February 2008 01:29 PM
shungrund Hey guys,
New to the forum. This is a great forum and rocksoff.org is awesome. I've been looking for the Exile on Main Street sessions (studio work on the album, demos, jam sessions, "lost songs", early verions, alternate versions, chatter, etc). It seems as if there isn't anything out there. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough but I was hoping someone could help me out. I've searched several torrent sites and ftp sites. I looked through the torrent thread but didn't find a listing for Exile sessions. Is there a box set of just Exile sessions (as there was with Satanic)?

I would appreciate any help the forum could give me.
Thank you,

Max

Sister Morphine Hi, I'm brand-new, too.

Interesting question your asking.
As far as I know, there isn't such a boxset of Exile. Or is there? I'd bang my head right into the next wall I see If you now tell me there is and I didn't know for a long time!

xx
But I must come back for a little more,
Charli

PartyDoll MEG Obviously, Gazza and Voodoo are the best to answer your question. I'll punt in the meantime, as they must be busy

And welcome to the asylum!!!

nankerphelge Obviously many others on this board will know far more than I.

But I have a two-disc set called Hillside Blues where the second disc is essentially a bunch of early Exile tracks.

It is awesome.

Not sure where I got it tho.

Sister Morphine Thanks very much, I'll examine that link later on.

texile welcome.....
exile demos and outtakes are hard to find -

legend has it that mick destroyed most of the tapes etc...
leaving us only with what ended up on exile.

you can find early versions of all down the line, tumbling dice, demo of shine a light, and some music-only tracks of a few other exile songs....
i have most of them scattered on different compilations -
i'm at work and can't remember the titles -
someone here has to know some titles..

texile does anybody know if blood red wine is from the exile sessions (71 LA session) or earlier...
i've never been able to pinpoint the time and it always bugs me when i can't put a time frame on a stones song.
