moy Final Ziggy Stardust gig to be released on DVD

David Bowie's final concert on his 1973 Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars tour is to be released on DVD.

It will be on sale from March 24 when a double CD of the concert will also be available.

The one-and-a-half-hour gig, filmed at London's Hammersmith Odeon, made headlines at the time when Bowie announced on stage that it would be his last ever live performance.

Only days later, he explained to reporters he had meant it would be his final show using the Ziggy persona.

The concert featured 16 songs taken mainly from the previous year's Ziggy Stardust album as well as 1973's Aladdin Sane and 1971's Hunky Dory, along with covers of the Rolling Stones' Let's Spend The Night Together and the Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat.

Bowie was backed by his regular band at the time, Mick Ronson on guitar, Trevor Bolder on bass and Woody Woodmansey on drums.

The full track listing is:
Hang On To Yourself;
Ziggy Stardust;
Watch That Man;
Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud;
All The Young Dudes/Oh! You Pretty Things;
Moonage Daydream;
Space Oddity;
