doo doo doo Dude Memo from Turner during Ray Liotta's helicopter/paranoia scene. Also loved Gimme Shelter and Monkey Man in that one. CYHMK in Blow was good but Scorses used it first (and better, IMO) in Casino.

Larry Dallas "Fool to Cry" used in Beautiful Girls, also directed by Ted Demme (Blow)

"Thru and Thru" in the Sopranos was great.

"2000 Man" in Bottle Rocket was amazing during the heist at the end.

Also "I am Waiting" in Rushmore. Wes Anderson seems to have a great rapport with the Stones music....so did Ted Demme RIP.

rain mayng Stones and coke/various drugs paranoia go hand in hand!

I also vote for:

Memo from Turner in Goodfellas (Is that helicopter following us?!) *I had to edit this from Monkey Man...woops! My bad*

Jumpin Jack Flash in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...I forgot about that one, with Johnny Depp's demented-ass grin at the end!

CYHMK in Blow -honorable mention- The movie kind of seemed forced, but there was Depp/Stones/drugs once again.

Any surprise who Depp chose for his inspiration in Pirates of Carribean?

Prodigal Son JJF is used in Mean Streets in a great way. As Harvey Keitel does this inner monologue about Johnny Boy, DeNiro's character, we hear those killer opening chords and the song chugs into action as Deniro walks in with two broads on his shoulders. Shot in slow-mo too. Stark, brilliant and it perfectly captures the swagger, cool yet danger and violence of the character. Scorcese's choices in music are almost always great. Mean Streets uses several, as does Casino. If I was a moviemaker, oh the songs I'd throw into certain scenes to capture the mood. The section of film I most enjoy is soundtrack, when it's done right.

I forgot about that one. Didn't they play Heaven instead?

Mr. D Yep, it was "Heaven", which really surprised me as its a rarer Stones track, just like "2000 Man" in Bottle Rocket (Wes Anderson is a Stones fan as well).
"Thru and Thru" in Sopranos was great (Sopronos returns March 7th with Steve Buscemi). I also love the use of Stones in Casino and Goodfellas- Martin Scorcese sure knows what he's doing.

Riffhard This may be a bit redundant, but I always dug the closing credits of Gimme Shelter with the live version of Gimme Shelter playing as the credits roll. It just seems to really capture the violence and mayhem that had just preceded the credits. You get an obviously shaken Jagger looking into the camera as he leaves the Maysles brothers in the editing room. He says "Alright then, see ya." Cue Gimme Shelter. Brilliant!

Like a Rolling Stone(stones) in The Specialist

Not The Specialist. It was Assassins, also a Stallone film though. LARS (Stones version) plays through the closing credits, when the older assassin has cut all ties with his former employer and leaves with the girl. BTW, one of the DVD chapters for this film is titled "Memory Hotel".

Monkey Woman I'll add to the list Wild Horses in Adaptation (2002). It plays on John Laroche's car radio when he tells Susan about the failure of his marriage. Bittersweet moment indeed.

Some Guy I watched The Tip of the Tongue DVD for the first time in a while. I forgot how damn good it is.

exile Has anybody mentioned that "Monkey Man" was used in GOODFELLAS?
comes in half way during great solo...around the time he is f**ked on drugs.

Also "Serpico" with Slyvester Stallone in the 70s or 80s used "Brown Sugar" in dico scene.

Bloozehound Wasn't Street Fighting Man used in State of Grace? In that scene were Gary Oldman's rambling down the street in his beat up Charger, swillin' a flask of hooch.
