Topic: I have a problem! Return to archive
02-25-04 02:40 PM
marko my problem,is,that i still wanna do,seed trees.But i really
cant afford to send parcels all over world.Postage costs
has DOUBLED since i came here, that is,year 2000 or so.
Back then,it was about 12FIN marks(2euros) to send couple
cdrs to usa.But Now its 5euros for same pkg.Today,i sent
parcels to persons to usa,,over 20euros.Cant do that anymore on weekly basis, and im also trading at the same time.So the costs gets tripled.
I still wanna share the stuff what i have, and my ideas are
endless,so,what we could do?
I have now 2 projects right away to share.
Any ideas?

mac_daddy use the internet and lossless compression... I have been trying to get that going for a while now...
02-25-04 02:45 PM
marko How i can do that?I dont have much freetime really.I work
everyweekend.
02-25-04 02:47 PM
mac_daddy I can show you - all you need is abroadband connection to the internet, and a computer that has some harrdrive space (that is also connected to the broadband line). If you have these things, I can get you up and running in no time. And once it is up, it is easy. It is definitely the way to do this stuff...

W- W- W- W- W- W- What ?!?!?!

We got no crisis here :

You can't always get it
When you really want it
You can't always get it at all
Just because there's space
In your life it's a waste
To spend your time why don't you wait for the call

(Just gotta get used to it)
We all get it in the end
(Just gotta get used to it)
We go down and we come up again
(Just gotta get used to it)
You irritate me my friend
(This is no social crisis)
This is you having fun
(No crisis)
Getting burned by the sun
(This is true)
This is no social crisis
Just another tricky day for you

You can always get higher
Just because you aspire
You could expire even knowing.
Don't push the hands
Just hang on to the band
You can dance while your knowledge is growing

(It could happen anytime)
You can't expect to never cry
(Patience is priceless)
Not when you try to fly so high
(Just stay on that line)
Rock and roll will never die
(This is no social crisis)
etc.

Another tricky day
Another gently nagging pain
What the papers say
Just seems to bring down heavier rain
The world seems in a spiral
Life seems such a worthless title
But break out and start a fire y'all
It's all here on the vinyl

(Just gotta get used to it)
Gotta get used to waiting
(Just gotta get used to it)
You know how the ice is
(Just gotta get used to it)
It's thin where you're skating
(This is no social crisis)
etc.

Just another tricky day for you fellah !

Jercee !

Factory Girl Send one seed per tree. Do you do that now already?

Still thinking....
02-26-04 07:22 PM
Madafaka Yes Marko, I have a problem too. I didn't send your cdrs yet. Is too expensive
02-27-04 02:16 AM
marko Thats what im talking about,,it is expensive.I think the
cost for you,is the same to usa&finland?no?.Maybe in the
future,i take only 3branches,thats it.
one from usa
one from europe
one from,?s.america,or eastern front.

My next tree is huge.again.
02-27-04 03:26 AM
mac_daddy marko - you have all you need to start seeding this stuff via the internet. We will have to get you started. Soon, you will wonder why you waited so long to start
02-27-04 04:42 AM
marko Hmmmmm? My next idea is still that Urban Jungle tree.
Rotterdam tapes 1990 3shows
Best of the jungle:2dvd and 2 sbd shows.(madrid&london)
02-27-04 11:42 AM
mac_daddy OK marko -

what we do in essence, is rip the CD to a hardrive, compress those WAV files to make them smaller, and then put them up on a dedicated peer-to-peer network...

first step: ripping the CD to your harrdrive...

have you ever used EAC..?

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

It is absolutely the most accurate way to take the WAVS from a CD and put them on a harddrive...

02-27-04 04:39 PM
Strange_Stray_Cat I have many problems as well. I will start a few threads about it.
02-27-04 08:52 PM
mac_daddy once you have the WAV files on your harddrive, you compress with a LOSSLESS compression scheme...

SHN or FLAC

then you use Bit Torrent to ditribute it...

very easy, and like I said, I've shown a ton of people how to do it, and with a little bit of interest, we could be seeding more stuff than you could possibly imagine - and it wont cost you a thing (you already pay for adsl)...

the way to work it is to have a few downloaders from the board sign up to be branches. They download, and then burn CDs for to be sent out to leaves and/or additional brances...

All you have to do is rip your source CDs, compress them and seed them. It sounds confusing, but I assure you, I can have you up and running in no time...
02-29-04 07:41 AM
marko Interesting....but does that take lot of time?My working
times are rather weird.
I could do this, when im remastering shows, then im allways
close to my Pc.
02-29-04 09:03 AM
Moonisup if you have a problem, and no one else can help,

maybe you can hire the C-team

does not take any time at all. the part where you put the file up for download, and seed the source - that can take a few hours, but you dont have to sit there at your computer for that - you just set it and forget it...
02-29-04 12:18 PM
marko Ive never used EAC,,,whatever it is,im not very good with
computers.
