Got me, you're the first I've heard about it from... I do know, we've got the best strip clubs with hot slutty girls... Why are you focusing on less than 10% of the city's population?

Did you know one of the biggest Conservative think tanks is here? SF is not a Gay, Pelosi city, it's just an inconvenient truth to paint it that way..

That's an awards ceremony not a city "day." What are you doing trolling gay porn award updates?????
1st March 2007 02:28 PM
Jumping Jack Read a little closer, there was an official proclamation by the Mayor, you know the straight married pretty boy who screws around a lot. It hit the national news yesterday, but like the ACLU Virginia President busted for child porn most of the liberal media won't cover it.

Truthiness!!! There are more Republicans in SF than gay people....
Just look at the 2004 election results...
Bush got 15% of the vote...
Homosexuals make up about 10% of the population...
Why doesn't the objective conservative meadia cover that?

"The city responded, dousing everyone in the pouring February rain as they left".

Proof God hates fags!

Your description of Newsom, is alot like Rudy... The cheating, living with homos and cross dressing Mayor of NYC... I say... Sooooo! Who cares?

Not the same... Have you heard about the huge protest here, to stop a porn movie company from using the old Armory as a studio? Spin stuff however you like, but it's not a one dimensional city...

Umm the mayor is divorced and why is this important national news?

"Elected officials -- including Assemblyman Mark Leno, Mayor Gavin Newsom and City Treasurer Jose Cisneros -- penned official statements honoring Colt Studios, "

it's not like we have parades for the homos, we just let them have a parade...
There is a difference...

It's been months of The Newsom scandal, why hasn't the objective conservative media been covering it?

Jumping Jack The Armory is a perfect place for bondage movies, BTW. I am not sure the deal was kosher, however.

I am somewhat fimiliar with SF having gone to grad school in Palo Alto and working on Market Street for 10 years.

I was just asking about the local feedback on the story.

San Francisco values are big news now that Pelosi is running Congress.

monkey_man I guess he prefers the liberal media covering pols sex lives. Hard hitting journalists like Chris Matthews:

Quotes:

MATTHEWS: I love the way you smile. I’m just thinking, is Bill Clinton going to stop trying to play Holly Golightly up in New York. I’m just wondering when he stops that, if he’s doing it, she’ll be better off.

2/26/2007

MATTHEWS: Here to dig into all are the HARDBALLers, the Washingtonpost.com’s Chris Cilizza and Lynn Sweet of “The Chicago Sun-Times.” Lynn, “The Washington Post’s” Ann Kornblut is on this program a lot, wrote this big piece this weekend about, once again, Bill Clinton’s the target of conversation. Is this going to go away, or does he have to issue a statement of some kind, I’m not going to be a problem for my wife’s campaign? How’s this going to end, this buzz?

2/25/2007

MATTHEWS: Tuesday, and then Maureen Dowd of The New York Times published Geffen’s piercing critique of Hillary and husband Bill. Quote, “‘I don’t think anybody believes that in the last six years, all of a sudden, Bill Clinton has become a different person’…

MATTHEWS: After The New York Times, Michelle, a couple of–couple of months ago wrote that big front page piece saying the Democrats are worried about Bill Clinton’s personal behavior right now, not ‘98. The Clinton response to that, the campaign response is ‘That’s personal, that’s private.’ That’s a fallback position from ‘There’s no trouble there.’ It’s like saying, ‘Don’t talk about that stuff, whatever it is.’

Ms. NORRIS: Well, you…

MATTHEWS: Is that going to work?

2/23/2007

MATTHEWS: Mike Barnicle, I didn’t think the Bill and Hillary issue would get — the husband issue would get so hot so fast, and now you got this guy, David Geffen, a liberal money-raising guy out in California, Hollywood, in Tinseltown, raising the issue of Bill Clinton’s personal behavior so early in the campaign.

2/23/2007

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Below the belt? Is it wrong for a Democrat like Barack Obama to say Bill Clinton’s personal behavior could be a great Republican issue in 2008? …

MATTHEWS: Does your side, the Clinton side, believe it’s a foul for any shot against Bill Clinton, the fact that he was impeached or anything to do with his personal behavior? You believe that’s a foul? …

MATTHEWS: Has anyone in the campaign, you or John — does Ann Lewis or Howard Wolfson — Howard Wolfson — does anybody have the status to walk up to Hillary and say, you have got to get Bill together on this; he could distract from this campaign; let’s make sure a winning campaign doesn’t become a losing campaign because of personal behavior?

2/15/2007:

MATTHEWS: It’s like she didn’t know anything about Bill and his behavior? How many times is she going to be confused by men?

2/8/2007

MATTHEWS: Is your friend Bill going to be in this campaign? Going to be busy with the campaign, not get any distractions going with other things?

MCAULIFFE: He`s going to be very busy.

MATTHEWS: No distractions? He`s writing a book.

MCAULIFFE: He`s got a distraction right now. He`s writing a book for the next two months.

MATTHEWS: Will he distract our attention from his wife by misbehavior?

MCAULIFFE: No sir.

MATTHEWS: He won’t? He’s going to be a good boy?

MCAULIFFE: His wife is running for president. He`s going to do everything — he`s the most popular man in the world today.

MATTHEWS: It doesn’t kill me if he does distract from this campaign. We do not want to go back to 1998. Some people do.

2/2/2007

MATTHEWS: Is Bill Clinton going to be a problem in this campaign?

LEWIS: Absolutely not.

MATTHEWS: Is he going to behave himself?

LEWIS: Bill Clinton has been around — in the first place, he’s been around the world saving lives.

MATTHEWS: Is he going to behave himself?

LEWIS: He’s going to do what he does best.

MATTHEWS: Is he going to behave himself…

LEWIS: Yes, he is.

MATTHEWS: … not cause a publicity that gets her embarrassed? …

LEWIS: There’s no there there. No. I think Bill Clinton is going to continue doing his work, going around the world, saving lives.

MATTHEWS: So he’s going to behave himself.

LEWIS: He’s going to be out on the campaign trail…

MATTHEWS: And he’s going to behave himself so Hillary can be the first woman president.

LEWIS: You’re all going to be applauding…

MATTHEWS: I think it’d be great for the country … if we were not once again distracted…

LEWIS: So do I.

MATTHEWS: … by what you call private life. And I think the way to avoid getting distracted is to have nothing there to distract us.

LEWIS: Well, I agree with that. But we just spent how many minutes of this segment, three minutes, talking about there should be nothing to distract us? Why don’t we stop talking about it and talk about the issues?

MATTHEWS: Well, because I want to have some assurances from people that I trust and like to spread the word that…

LEWIS: Why don’t you watch…

MATTHEWS: … he better watch it …

LEWIS: … what he’s been doing? Why not see what he’s done for the last…

MATTHEWS: I am watching, unfortunately. Anyway, thank you, Ann Lewis

1/29/2007

MATTHEWS: …So we don’t know what she was thinking. That audience, though, was keyed to laugh, thinking she was kidding about her husband’s philandering, Monica Lewinsky and all that. What I’m asking is, is she that unaware of that 800-pound gorilla stalking behind her, the baggage of her husband?

On the porn awards or the Mayor sticking his friends wife? I don't really care about either.

SF has many neighborhoods with lots of differing opinions in each. Pelosi represents the most moneyed section of the city. The most conservative if you will.

You're right, the deal is what's in question, not the busines to be done there...

Having lived in Palo alto, did the liberal envoirment represent you? or you're time in SF, your values ect...?

Local feedback... Firstly, you said it was an official SF gay porn awards, which was false... And you got two locals responding, me I don't give a fuck, and don't care, i wouldn't have known about it, unless you told me...

As for SF values... No one place, peson our country, soeaks for an individuals values. Like I said earlier, did Rudy represent NYC values with all his cheating, living with gay men and cross dressing ( I know it was in fun)?
You know my values... Family, Work, Home, Country... there's no real order...
despite pelosis's views, it is in bad taste to question an american loyalty to this country... It's pretty idiotic, if our country is attacked and taken over like blowhards claim she wants, then she loses too. We may disagree with which leaders we think are right, but seriously... Don't act like I voted for Pelosis. i don't vote for Democrats or Republicans... Although, I may vote for Rudy, at least in our primaries!

Jumping Jack I really don't give a rat's ass what people do as long as I don't have to pay for their fuckups. Liberal on social issues, conservative on financial ones.

What's up with giving $500 of taxpayer money to every child born in California, legal or illegal? You guys must all have more money than you know what to do with.

Let's see, for $500 I can go see the Stones or give it to the next Mexican looking for a handout that walks across the border and drops a baby. No brainer!

BTW, I will probably vote for Rudy too.

Jumping Jack San Francisco and Sacremento values:

Blindingly stupid
Thomas Lifson
Sometimes a serious proposal emerges which is so stupid that it stuns me. Other times, proposals anger me. Rarely, both qualities are combined in one legislative proposal, but the California State Senate currently has such a bill, introduced with bipartisan support.

The idea: give $500 to every infant born in the State of California, regardless of immigration status of the parents. The aim: supposedly to encourage habits of savings and thrift.

Sen. Darrell Steinberg, a Democrat, introduced the bill along with Republican Sen. Bob Dutton. What are they smoking?

How does receiving a government check encourage savings? Doesn't it encourage the expectation of further handouts? I have been a saver my entire life, and think I know something about the subject. Saving is the practice of deferring consumption from current income, and placing the funds somewhere they can grow. It is most definitely not the practice of waiting for checks to arrive from somebody else's tax payments.

California cannot afford this giveaway. The state has a serious budget deficit, and a list of needs, as well as huge commitments to gold plated retirement benefits for state employees, which continue to grow exponentially.

There are already many incentives for illegal aliens to come to California and deliver their babies in nice safe hospitals with free medical care. That becomes the ticket to legal status for the parents, as well as a torrent of welfare benefits targeted at the children who are automatically citizens.

When news reaches the four corners of the earth that California will award you a bonus of $500 violating our laws and helping yourself to our largesse, the problem of illegals can only worsen.

For some reason, I have not found this news in the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times and Sacramento Bee websites. Maybe I missed it because it is buried. But I suspect it is so outrageous that these papers wanted to give the public no clue of what is going on in Sacramento among the solons. The California legislature does its worst work in the dark.
