LadyJane Some arrival shots:

--Penelope Cruz. What is the deal with feathers? I don't get it.

--Jennifer Hudson. Good color. Looks like the gown flatters her larger figure. HATE the jacket.

--JLO looks beautiful. Like this one!!

--Rachel Weisz. Gorgeous. So sleek.

--WOW. Some lucky woman will go home with her tonight

--Jessica Biel. Gorgeous bod. Not sure I like this color and the dress seems too long.

Enjoy the show!

Jessica Biel is SOO hot! Why did she wear THAT?

Jennifer Hudson: Lose the capelet. I don't like that color on her.

JLo is, like, our generation's Elizabeth Taylor. Yuck.
Why does her husband always look like a junkie?

LadyJane gyps...
Helen Mirren looks stunning.
Hudson took the jacket off..whew!!!!!!

What until you see Meryl Streep??? OMG. She should have kept her wardrobe from "Devil Wears Prada".

I can't see Penelope Cruz' gown but she looks radiant.

Jack Nicholson shaved his head. Buzz cut.

Sir Stonesalot Downfall
Notorious Bettie Page
Thank You For Smoking

I saw these too Pdog...and I totally agree. Great films all.

I saw one recently that i thought I was going to hate..."Confederate States of America". It is shot in the style of a BBC documentary, except that the South won the war, and slavery still exists on 21st Century America. I loved it. It is soooooooo wrong on soooooooo many different levels. Pure genius.

Did anyone see "Black Dahlia"? It was stunningly bad. In fact it was so bad that I sorta like it. It's like an Ed Wood movie except with a gigantic budget. Some friends and I decided to do shots every time the main dude took off his hat. We were wasted before the movie was a third over. The plot is so convoluted and incomprehensible that I thought I wrote it!

Happy Endings was a pretty cool movie too...
funny you mention Black Dahlia, even the book sucks... IMO!

pdog just put Confederate States of America at the top of my netflix cue!

Left Shoe Shuffle Watched Jesus Camp today.

Kid evangelizing in a bowling alley, a 12 year old preacher rocking a rat tail haircut, kids speaking in tongues, laying hands on a G Dub cardboard cutout, and Ted Haggard playing a straight preacher - scariest movie I've seen in a while.

Honky Tonk Man Every time I switch on the telly and the Oscars are on, they seem to be interviewing some guy called Michael Sheen. I've never heard of him before! Apparently he plays Tony Blair in a fim called The Queen. I'd never heard of that either!

I kinda wish he would steal the 2008 election ......

....but I really do not see ANYONE defeating Hillary Clinton ( see : James Carville's Hardball Tactics --- necessary for Democratic Victory ) .

Snuggles !

Joshy....

Scorsese's win will definitely be good for the Beacon movie, no?

Marty loves the Stones.

I say we all head to NYC for the Beacon show premiere.

Angiegirl So howe was Ellen? Any hi-lites? It's not broadcasted here (only on some Pay-channel), and anyway, it's the middle of the night before Monday's workday here.

Didn't see anything yet, just heard the winners-list on radio news this morning at 8 when leaving for work (probably some 2 or 3 hours after the show I guess).

Glad Mirren won, she's simply an amazingly good actress. Also glad Scorsese finally got his (big surprise ), so we have that out of the way in future ceremonies.

It's not like most of the movies are that good, it's a popularity contest and gro$$ and net circle jerk...
like most things in western culture that are consumed by the masses, I find this and all awards shows boring and pointless.
There is one redeeming part of The Oscars, the dead people montage, the differring amounts of applause for each dead person is probably the most telling part of the characters of the people in hollywood. They even take the ego and popularity contest to the grave. Truly fucking absurd...

yeah, i hate that part...
why SHOULDN'T Don knots get as much applause as altman?
it's always so demeaning to me - they should hold ALL applause.
and i agree - its a wank-fest.....and just like high school -
where the cool people rule and everyone else is just slumming.

departed was good but overrated...
babel overheated and pretentious...
scorsese is a genius - but not this year...
little miss sunshine was original....and i was hoping for an upset.
the best part for me was realizing
that kid from the bad news bears - forgot the name -
was nominated for best supporting actor -
i didn't know that until watching some oscar preview show...
he's been a child-actor "has-been" since he turned 18 -
that's a great comeback story.
26th February 2007 02:11 PM
pdog He went from child star, to working shit jobs, to making it back in the biz...
