Topic: Q: Welcome to NY, july '72 Return to archive
02-26-03 01:21 PM
albert Hi there,

can anyone help me with this question:

the bootleg 'Welcome to New York july 1972 is one of my real big all time favorites (like Get Your Leeds Lungs Out, Brussels Affairs, Liver They'll Ever be etc. etc.)
It is a one-cd bootleg with 8 songs for 45 minutes. The sound is a terrific, rough and dirty soundboard. The Stones are om fire and playing the house down and to their feet (or something like that ?!!).

Now the big question:

Is this whole concert available on a bootleg? Probably in the same sound quality?

Any help is most appreciated!!

Albert

Maxlugar I love YCAGWYW on that one. Those Mick Taylor licks after each line in the chorus are simply Taylorific!!

Oh my God!

Poem Alert!

Go!

Mick Taylors Fingers:

They make me quiver
When they deliver
I cry a River
With my gin Soaked liver
Whilst the notes, they slink and slither ...............

Feels good.

Maxy!

Gazza One of the first Stones live tapes I ever heard was the '72 "Welcome to new york" boot

To answer your question, Albert - to my knowledge, only the 8(?) songs bootlegged on that album have circulated as a soundboard. An audience recording of the full show is indeed available but the only copy I've heard is lousy quality I'm afraid.

albert Hi Gazza,

thanx for your reply. It's a pity because its really one of my favorite boots. Well, maybe some day, you never know......

Any news about the HBO video, Gary ??

Vinyl kills Isn't this show available on the STONES TOURING PARTY 7 Disc set???
02-27-03 12:45 PM
throbby Disc 6 has 14 songs from the 26th show as per the boot sites. I've never heard that disc but if I were to bet I would go along with Gazza. If that whole show was available as a SB other labels would have since released it and we'd all have heard it by now.
