I listened to it today. A hell of a song. To my knowledge they never played Slave live. It would be the absolute highlight of the concert !!! |

Hell Yes!!!!!
They rehearsed it, but it seems like they couldn't get it together.

I read in Bill Wyman's ROLLING WITH THE STONES that Pete Townshend played guitar on Slave.
Is that right?
Did Keith and Ronnie play on it as well?

Didn't Jeff Beck play on the original demo of "Slave"?

this was discussed on Doug's site recently - Doug indicated that Mick couldn't get the vocal down during rehearsal - too many words to fit in or something. I say - then let Mick sit it out and let the audience handle the chorus - DON'T WANT TO BE YOUR SLAVE! It's essentially an instrumental, anyway... |

Sounds like Keith is involved... |

GimmeExile:
If I'm not mistaken, Townshend is on backing vocals. |

Damn, it would be great to hear it live. I'm thinking that Mick would have trouble with this:
"Twenty four hours a day
Hey, why don't you go down to the supermarket
Get something to eat, steal something of the shelves
Pass by the liquor store
Be back about quarter to twelve "
This is a very fast verse in the song, and I'd think that the chance of Mick fucking it up live is very high. The pace must be the back breaker.
Still, it would be great to hear.
