I hate to be devils advocate, but the majority of the songs you mention have been remixed and overdubbed several times (particularly Love You Live and FLashpoint), and even I can play a pretty decent guitar part if I am giving hundreds of takes at it. It is only fair to compare pure live recordings with no overdubbing/editing to get the true facts.

It's cool, but if you listen to Paris '76, you will hear that RW's incredible Brown Sugar solo is NOT o/d'ed. On Brown Sugar and songs like YCAGWYW on Love You Live, the vocals are overdubbed, and not the solos. The YCAGWYW solo is shortened from the Paris boot, but not played over in the studio at all. No doubt, on Flashpoint, songs like like Start Me up are overdubbed like hell, but anyone looking for great playing by Wood minus polishing need not look further than '78 or '81 boots.
