Two lead singers have called it quits with their bands today: Ian Astbury leaving Riders on the Storm to re-form The Cult and Chris Cornell is leaving Audioslave to release a new solo album.
Can't say the demise of Audioslave was a surprise. With the upcoming revival of Rage Against the Machine (for one concert at least) and Cornell doing the new Bond theme solo, the writing was on the wall. |

I once saw Soundgarden and Pearl Jam (with Blues Traveler, too) open for Neil Young. I must say, Soundgarden was the opening highlight.
Saw the Cult last year - with Ian. Nice and loud.
Sounds like a good day for lead singers - bad for their bands... |
