Topic: Billion dollar band Return to archive

F505 In the Dutch businessmagazine "Emerce" of march an article called "Licks & Tricks". With their four big tours (89, 94, 97 and 2002) the Stones have earned 1 billion dollar. Mick Jagger: "We don't live in a socialistic society where nobody earns enought to pay those prices."
The 40 licks tour is the least succesful tour of the 4 mentioned. The British are said to be pissed because of the fact that presales for the Astoria gig were sold at night which explains why half of the audience will be American...

McQueen It seems rather early to call it the least successful. It's still rolling on!

Martha How well the Licks tour (financially speaking) is doing and has done to date will be the one determining factor if they come back and do more dates in the U.S. or not.

Please, those of you who are keeping tabs on this info..

Keep us posted!

Thanks!

More Licks......please Ronnie!
