You're an idiot Sway...

Mick Jagger was what Willis was talkin' 'bout.

Angered by the fact that Hurricane Katrina was not named Hurricane Keith, Richards went on a killing spree. It is been rumored that he mutilated 7 meterologists, 15 journalists, and 3 unrelated civilians. He was seen later on screaming "Who's a CAT 5 now bitch?!"

February 17th, 2006 02:29 PM
Ihavelotsajam Apperently, that poll on the site had a question yesterday about which rock star looks the most dead-- needless to say, Keith won.

Which is good, as many seem to forget about ol' Brian, outside of Stones fans of course. He was the original dead at 27 rock star after all...

Willis was a crack addict. His judgement was impared.

While Mick is an amazing talent. Both musically and financially. But when it comes to most talented Stone, he is not in the same league as Charlie, Brian, Stu, Mick T or Keith.

or even Bobby Keys

Too much of a smoker. Interesting shows with Joe Ely back when David Grissom was in Ely's band, though.

Mad Dogs & Englishman was one of the greatest tours ever. Bobby stole the show and the MOVIE!!! He was the star!

Having that, plus Buddy Holly & The Stones on his resume is pretty hard to top.

Bobby's jammed with everyone. He is THE BEST R&R sax player. Period.

" Who Went First: Neither Moon's early death nor the fact that he left an estate valued at just $750,000 was surprising for a rock superstar who spent his extensive off-time between Who tours and albums partying and spending hard. He died intestate, making it difficult for his daughter, Amanda, to collect what she could have. But even though Pete Townshend wrote almost all the Who's songs, today they're licensed so widely and lucratively--in commercials for cars, computers and allergy medicine as well as the title music for all three CSI TV shows--that Moon's share likely exceeds seven figures.
Peer Plaudits: Though widely recognized by other drummers as a unique stylist and breathtaking performer, Moon remains best-known as the godfather of nihilistic rock-star excess--and for a career of stripping naked in airports, destroying hotel rooms and drum kits and consuming record quantities of alcohol and pharmaceuticals.
Give the Drummer Some: Bandmate Roger Daltrey's 10-year quest to produce a biopic of Moon finally bore fruit last October when Mike Myers agreed to handle the role.
Forecast for 2006: "

he may be the best R and R sax player out there, but if you asked 100 intelligent people who the more talented musician is between MIck Jagger and Bobby Keys...100 would pick Mick...strangely you picked Bobby?

Saint Sway listen to Mr. Keys rip it up on CYHMK

listening to that song is the perfect way to analize the pecking order of Stones musicianship and talent.

only a U2 fan would listen to that song and rank the lead singer as more talented than Watts, Taylor, Richards and Keys.

sadly, you must re read my post. I put Mick ahead of Keys, not the others. You must look at the big picture. There is not one frontman (or woman) in music today or anytime previously that has the stage pressence (possible exception young Elvis) or charisma/talent in the lead singer position that Mick Jagger does. For a bonus throw in that he is an above average acoustic guitarist, average rhtymn guitarist, very good harmonica player, as well as a versitle session musician on other instruments as well. (please refer to 1988 television interview with Keith Richards when he, even at a time when the fued was at its height, claimed that mick is so talented, that he could play a table better than anyone else attempting it because he is that damn good).

He also played some good leads and slide on the last album too.

please see your many posts about how captivating and enthralled the audience is by your boy Bono. You went to the U2 shows and reported back about his charisma. Proof that even if a bloated retard like Bono can captivate an audience than maybe its not so much a talent. More of a willingness for people to want to lose themselves for 2 hrs.

Mick is clearly the best front man since James Brown. But there is no R&R sax player in Keys league. Lots of folks can lay claim to being great front men... big deal. Front men are nothing without the right chops behind them. See Micks solo career.

Remember Mick is the "talent" behind Goddess, Shes The Boss, Primitive Cool, Alfie, Bigger Bang and all his other solo disasters.

Muddy is a good example, sadly, many folks only seen him in his deteriorating years, but I still can't argue that he is a better front man than Mick...perhaps if they both were in a blues band as fronting a blues band is a different beast, then an arguement can be made...but i would generally say that Mick could do what Muddy did (not singing wise, but stage pressence and interaction with audience and band mates, but I dont think Muddy could ever do what Mick did and still does). Neil Young is very good as well, and his uniqueness really adds to his appeal, but he is no MIck Jagger when it comes to frontmen.

well i'd give that "honour"to Robert Johnson even if it requires a fairly broad interpretation of the term "rock star" - 'tho he has, with thanks to the stones in particular, become one posthumously

You are correct, but I was referring to the dead rockers at 27, Brian was the first, of course Robbie Johnson had a huge influence on many, so maybe he was just the original musician to meet his fate at 27.

Jagger had the talent to keep the band alive and relevant for years. You can find even more talent on his 3rd solo album, the best of any Stone by a mile.

Songwriting is not just a talent, it's exactly the "right chops" that Saint Sway himself managed to mention. Without it, many people haven't done anything with themselves.
