________
No dear Sway - it cleans out the impacted toxins residing in so many who suffer from the standard American diet that in turn prohibits a fully functioning and healthy body. Both physical and mental capabiity is compromised, any number of ailments then inflict themselves upon the body, resulting in a continued downward spiral of health and eventually, death at a far earlier time than would have been the case.
Thus, one cannot fully appreciate the music of U2 in such a condition...or the Stones for that matter. The numbers of fat people at a Stones concert has become truly appalling, and likely makes Mick n Keef feel terribly angst ridden for the days when their crowds were filled with young hard charging bodies unburdened by pounds of putrid toxic shite residing within their intestinal tract.
We should be paying them $1000 a ticket for making them put up with such horrific scenes! The poor lads! |

Plus if they charge $1000, it will prevent them from spending any money at the concession stands and force them to control their weight. Genius!! Like I tell everyone, the Stones don't disappoint live, its the crowds that disappoint them!!

As sad as it may be, you have to really sell-out to have a gold and platinum album these days, have it played constantly on radio, TRL, MTV, basically have it shoved down people's throats. These days good music just don't sell, many albums I like never see 50k in sales. I'm glad they didn't pull a Barry or Rod on us, and record an album of cover songs consisting of tender love songs from the 50's, that would have went triple platinum easily. The fact that they can do 400-500 k without any radio or mTV play is pretty good, its selling on word of mouth and from touring, like bands did in the old days. |

How about these covering "the tender love songs from the 50's" that are on these LP's:
Chuck Berry
TITLE: Chuck Berry's Golden Decade Vol 1 - Chess-Vogue
MEDIA: 2 LP
(Sorry-- couldn't find picture or track listing on the web so that I could cut and paste it here)

Covering Chuck berry won't sell cuz its way too rock 'n roll for the general consumer's taste these days, I was talking of the songs that Barry and Rod cover that you hear in commercials for toothpaste and viagra... |

I think releasing "THe NEarness Of You" on Live Licks was as close as the stones would ever get to Barry or Rod...but I gotta be honest...I am jealous that Aerosuck beat them to the punch and did a blues album...this would have been great. |

True, it would have been amazing coming from them at this stage of the game. Also, I believe Nearness of you was one Keith did dedicated to his wife, nothing wrong with that, and they did it way before Rod or Barry. Now if they did 4 albums in a row like that the way Rod and Barry have, thats another story. |

no fool. The GREAT Ian "Mac" MacLagan!!!
Faces should reunite minus the guy that sings oldie songs in a tuxedo.
They should get Kelly Jones - of Stereophonics - to front them. Kelly is a good pal of Woody's and has Rod's raspy pipes. He'd be a great fit. And hes already got the right name!! Ck out his pipes on "Nothing Precious At All" or "Madame Helga" or "You Stole My Money Honey". Or ck out his duet with Woody on Ronnie's "Whatdya Think" from his Not For Begginers record.
Faces '07:
vox: Kelly Jones
gtr: Ronald Wood
keys: Ian Maclagan
drums: Kenny Jones
bass: Bill Wyman
oh... and U2 is the musical version of a colonic flushing.

Why not Chris Robinson, Saint Sway? All the rock critics claim "Shake Your Money Maker" is just like the Faces, although I think it is much more like the Stones. |

agreed. I recall one show where we dedicated "Torn and Frayed" to a member of the boards who had passed away and each time afterwards that we sang it, I always thought of this board member whom I have never met, but was taken to early. At this time, I cannot recall what his screenname was. |

Chris would be my dream pick. But hes busy now. Totally committed to the Crowes. Meanwhile, Stereophonics are on the beach.
certainly if there was a Ronnie Lane tribute show, I'm sure the Robinson brothers would be honored to do it. But I dont see Chris ever committing to doing a full Faces reunion tour. No way. Not his thing.
Chris knows Woody & Mac. He loved the box set. We caught Mac's show together and Chris was singing the whole time. So he definately knows the words. But I doubt he'd ever even consider it - outside a one-off guest appearance. Ya know? He tired of the Page thing. He wants to do his own thing. Chris always has a lot of cool collaborations going on but he is very, very focused on the Crowes now.
besides who would want to go from being onstage with Rich Robinson & Marc Ford wailing away to being onstage with cracked out Ronnie Wood - watching him dance around and wave to the audience because he cant remember how to play any songs. It just doesnt sound very inspiring. |

Yes - moderate boost, as well as boosting sales of other Stones albums.
As for the halftime performance, it has been widely regarded, minus the sound quality issues, to have been a fine performance by a fine band. Mick -n- Charlie were particularly good. South America now braces for a spectacular event.
Europe awaits in anticipation...
Last big tour...
New record deal w/new label awaits...
Keith has solo effort ready to drop in '07
Mick is preparing another film
Charlie wants to go home
Ron and Rod have been talking regularly regarding '07 tour plans...
Life is good!

The only shitty things was the lame crowd just sitting on their ass (not the "planted" crowd) and the bad sound mix the network gave them, the performance was fine. |
