Mel Belli As JB would no doubt have noticed, ABB is bound to go platinum!

Break The Spell It's good to see BANG re-enter the charts, its kind of annoying to see people buying Jump Back and not the real albums from the 70's and 80's that the compilation represents. All those edits on that disc are annoying, just like on disc 2 of 40 Licks.

Why'd you have to remind me about those damn edits?!

If I keep bringing it up, maybe one day they'll get a good compilation that truly does them justice, why does IORR, Beast of Burden, Emotional Rescue, Miss You, Mixed Emotions, Fool To Cry, Undercover, etc. always have to be edits. "Time Waits For no One" from Sucking is the worst victim. Same thing when the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" got chopped to 3 1/2 minutes. Next step, a Led Zep compilation with a 3 minute "Stairway To Heaven", cuz them solo's at the end are so annoying afterall...

White House Lawn Those edits piss me off, too!

They should have left OFF 3 of the shitty new songs, left ON "Waiting for a Friend" and of course, left those great tunes unedited!

As I once again, accurately predicted, Jump Back and ABB shall see nice bumps (I suspect 40 Licks and Hot Rocks also got a bump) while Rarities was not affected!

Exactly, the only new song they needed was "Don't Stop" on there, replace the other three with "Heartbreaker", "Waiting On A Friend" and "She's So Cold", there would be enough room then for no edits and it would be a much better track listing on disk 2 as well.

Saint Sway I am glad that their awesome SB performance has caused a slight surge in their record sales. They deserve better than having to try and support their families strictly off of their touring income.

February 15th, 2006 04:08 PM
IzzyStradlin Can someone explain to me how the sales of this album (good or bad) makes it better (or worse)?

It is what it is............ very average.....at best.

Whats interesting is the Superbowl performance was most people's first taste of A Bigger Bang, the party I was at people were like wow, these guys have a new album?? I played them parts of it and they seemed to like it, they need better promotion when it comes to albums, they have the touring part down just fine.

We (true stones fans) must only accept the best performance possible, be it a live show or album sales. ABB has been regarded by many here and on other boards to be a fine effort. I personally think it is better than many of their other albums (particularly everything since Tattoo You aside from Voodoo Lounge), and not at the same level as others.

More album sales will motivate the band to continue as a working band.

You heard it here!

I blame to Virgin, they don't give a shit or don't have an idea. Every act that flopped with Virgin a few years back, are selling loads of copies now with other label (Green Day, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart...)

Absolutely nobody I know is aware of ABB, and we're talking some people who can even name many of their individual albums. The rest downloaded ABB online (maybe because it's free, maybe not to be seen in a store buying it).
February 16th, 2006 11:00 AM
glencar Don't you have to pay for those downloads? Or is it one of those free services like kazaa?

February 16th, 2006 11:19 AM
egon tu est con toi!
February 16th, 2006 11:19 AM
glencar LOL It still hasn't gone gold here yet!
February 16th, 2006 11:22 AM
egon maybe you and I should buy a few more then?
February 16th, 2006 11:26 AM
glencar I bought about a dozen copies of Licks & gave them away as gifts. Let Virgin do the heavy lifting this year.
February 16th, 2006 11:31 AM
jb ABB still not Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 16th, 2006 11:33 AM
glencar Nope. It should do that in 2 weeks but it's been a long road. It's a shame because it's a fine collection.
