Show dos Rolling Stones altera trânsito no Rio
Publicidade

Do total, 380 atuarão durante o show, cobrindo o entorno do palco e vias de acesso.

jostorm You got to be joking!

I would translate it, but it's just a braindead article of measures taken by the local city council in Rio to make sure the logistics of transport (extra buses) and refuse collection are taken care of.....

It translates as: IT'S GONNA BE THE USUAL CHAOS.

ONLY WORSE.....

Spanish and Portuguese are so similar that you can read it and understand it, no?

Except for a few words, I can read it.

P.S. I hope there are no Brazilians on here, but I love to hear them speak! They sound so cute. They sound like little babies learning how to speak, although I'm sure they probably think the same thing about Spanish speakers.

P.S.S. My favorite Brazilian saying is "Va casar?" (Are you getting married?)

They use that line whenever someone is overdressed! Ha!

I found this in a news report:

Security is a concern. Earlier this month, three people were crushed to death and 38 injured in Sao Paulo, Brazil, when thousands of fans surged through security barriers at an autograph session for the Mexican band RBD.

----------

if they cant control a 1,000 fans of some unknown Mexican band, how do they plan to control 1 - 2 million rabid fans at Stones show???????
February 15th, 2006 04:42 PM
axl79 I must agree with a lot of you here, security may be a concern. Live in Rio Maracana stadium do usually 200 000 people , but now we are talking about 1 million or more.
And the stage is really on the f*cking beach, hope no sunami strikes!
February 15th, 2006 06:02 PM
VoodooChileInWOnderl The show with Rod Stewart at Copacabana some years ago had a crowd of 3.5 M

The Guinness World Records Web site credits the largest live concert to Rod Stewart, who reportedly drew 3.5 million for a New Year's Eve 1994 performance - also at Copacabana Beach.

For your information, RBD is not an unknown Mexican band. It's actually a group of teenaged actors from a Mexican telenovela called REBELDE! Mexican telenovelas are transmitted all over the world!

More than likely, the group was "formed" by Televisa to promote the telenovela! Once the telenovela is over, the group breaks up.

P.S. No, I don't watch that show! But, I do see all the little girls walking around dressed like the REBELDEs! In their Rebelde outfits which are "preppy school girl uniforms". And, they go around singing, "Y soy rebelde!"

P.S.S. Way back in the 90's, Ricky Martin was in a Mexican telenovela and he participated in a similar group called "Muñecos de papel".

The concept is not new, just the actors/singers are different.
