Romney's political history has shown that he has never let his faith dictate policy. Plus, there are many cannons inside the Mormon Church that are not embraced by all Mormons.

I have met quite a few Mormons in my day and I can't say that they are any more looney than any one else. In fact a few of them are great upstanding people. Romney has been supported by all those who know him and his religion has never seemed to change that fact.

If it comes down to a Mormon or a known liberal like McRINO I'll take the Mormon every single time. Why would I let his religion get in my way of supporting him?

Did he sell drugs in high school?...I mean Spicoli was a cool enough guy, but I wouldn't trust him with running the country

Nellcote Riffy, this is one resident of the People's Republic Of MOSSACHUSETTS that will wholeheartedly not be voting for Mitt. He was not as good a govenor here as he was a businessman in other situations. Vote once, think twice about Mitt.

Romney is a self made billionaire, unlike McRINO. He was an incredibly respected and good governor, unlike McRINO. He is by all acounts a great father and husband. He actually believes in the free market system of capitalism, unlike McRINO. He does not believe in the redistribution of wealth, unlike McRINO. He does not refer to private and publicly traded corporations as "the enemy", unlike McRINO. He does not support open borders and amnesty for illegals, unlike McRINO. He does support the exploration of, and the drilling of our own oil in ANWAR and other locations, unlike McRINO. He does not constantly betray his conservative base, unlike McRINO.

Mitt Romney was the governor of Massachusetts people! For fuck's sake! The guy had to play to the left in his state. Once he was governor he did nothing to promote any left leaning causes, and the voter base still loved him. He did cut taxes while raising the state revenue during his tenure as governor.

"Governor Romney's economic record contains a mixture of pro-growth accomplishments and some troublesome positions that beg to be explained," said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. "While his record on taxes, spending, and entitlement reform is flawed, it is, on balance, encouraging, especially given the liberal Massachusetts Legislature. His record on trade, school choice, regulations and tort reform all indicate a strong respect for the power of market solutions. At the same time, Governor Romney's history is marked by statements at odds with his gubernatorial record and his campaign rhetoric."

The Club For Growth-April 2007.

As I previously stated, I am not happy with any of the candidates that we have left. However, given the choice between a power hungry meglomanic who thinks the state should have control over it's citizenry from cradle to grave(Hillary), a rookie senator with very strong socialist veiws (Obama), and a RINO who has an open distain for his own base (McRINO), I think I'll go with the Mormon with a strong conservative tax and social record who believes in the primacy of the free market capitalist system.

He's also too full of ego IMO, to appoint people smarter than himself for his cabinet positions, and he pwes too many favors, and we saw what those appointments lead us into, and that is not good if you want to be president... I'm torn between McCain and Huckabee for the primary leaning towards Mike b/c he will help knock Romney out.
I have nothing against Romney's silly religion as far as being president, in fact, it's very low on reasons I don't like him....

For god's sake man, listen to yourself! I'm pained, physically fucking pained, seeing what you've reduced yourself to.

Look Riffy, I goaded you into this, so I hold myself partly responsible for your condition. I can only offer my best and share this piece of advice that a very wise and very conservative man once gave to me: "The only real sin you can commit in this life is to lie to yourself."

oldkr john mccain is such a picture of morality after he returned home years after he was given the option of leaving he left his crippled wife for a woman, 17 years his junior, he met at a conference in hawaii. Most of his children still refuse to speak to him, and he believes we should occupy another country for the next hundred years...

he is at least as baseless as many people view the clintons to be if not more.

he is the shame of the republican party, what sorry shape the party is in.

Point taken Nelly, but again I can only point to the others that he is running against. He's the best of the bunch when it comes to what I feel is important.

Frankly, I want a genuine real conservative, but there ain't one in the lott. Every single time that the Republicans have run on a genuine conservative platform they have won save the Goldwater run in 1964. However, his strong conservative values ushered in the Reagan Revolution (not to mention the greatest political speech ever given, see-"The Speech" link below) that led to the two largest landslides in US Presidential election history. No matter how many times that liberals try and rewrite the history of Ronaldus Maximus Reagan, they can never deny the cold hard facts. He was loved by the masses. Why? Because the masses consider themselves right of center politically and philosophically. This is a true stone cold fact that has been born out in every poll ever taken on the subject. Reagan knew this instictivly. Today's Republican Party has seemingly forgotten it.

The very essence of genuine conservatism that some here have forgotten!

Riffhard The really funny thing about Ann that most people don't know is that she has a slew of liberal friends. Bob Weir, Phil Lesh,Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann amoung them! She has seen the Dead over 100 times, and she also knew Jerry. When you hear what her liberal friends say about her you begin to understand that her whole schtick is about "taking the piss". It's just that humourless liberals never seem to get the joke. She has made millions off of the unbridled hatered from the left! That, my friends, is the biggest joke of all. You have all been had!

She does it well... I aspire to be like her in that sense, too often I'm misunderstood.
I think everyone needs to take a breath, and remember a few things. For those of us in america, we are americans first, not a political party... and before that, we're humans, smart, inteligent and very caring creatures, however flawed we might be at times. I do get tired, and bothered by alot of the downright hate that flows, and sometimes I forget it is a schtick or just a reaction. I have no doubt, that of the 6 remaing people who debated this wekk, that all of them love America, their families and want the best for all of us....

That's BS. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Willard Romney loves America. None. He was given dozens of chances to be a normal American, and the record before this board is clear which cult his chose to follow. He wet his bed and now he has to lie in it. Real American conservatives will denounce him until he is relegated to the backrocks of Utah where he and his miserable people belong.
