this is the same one that we treed over here, only without the errors (there were a few dropouts - most likely caused by inexact DAE)...
did you give the octover 14, 1981 set a listen..? t&a sent me the cassettes, and i transferred and torrented them @ ttd - here is the link...
next up are a pair of VERY nice sounding AUDs from the first two gigs of the 81 tour. i am waiting for the cleaning fluid to arrive (special stuff - mail order only) before doing the actual transfer (these tapes deserve it)...
speaking of which...
there is a sbd source of 9/25 up on ezt now. i have not pulled it yet, but i am curious to see if it is the same as wee treed here, or if it is an alternate source...
there is more stones up there (ezt) atm, i am having a very hard time keeping up. man, i wish they would organize the announcement pages better... |

sorry to double-post (but at least it is about MUSIC)
listening to "a shot of salvation"
sepcifically - "too many cooks"
WOW - does it sound sharper than the one on acetates (or was it "it's only goat's head soup" ??)...
anyway, it sounds terrific!! i wonder if it was ripped from the tape that recently sold at auction..?
the rest of the collection is live/studio excerpts that appear elsewhere. the studio tracks sound as good, if not better than, they do on other collections. on the other hand, better sources of the live stuff circulate - and in more complete form, too.. |

If I remember correctly, Shot of Salvation came out before the Too Many Cooks acetate got sold. I could be wrong, though. When did that auction happen?
Currently: Faces Box, Disc 4.
Before that: RL Burnside: Early Recordings.

I do too. For a while there I thought Velvet Revolver would be something I could get into -- I listened to it for a while and put it away for good.
Turns out these guys went the route of releasing crap that only FM "rock" stations would play on their airwaves. It's bloody dreadful listening to Scott Weiland bitch and moan about people giving him a hard time and calling him a junky. It also goes to show that the guys from Guns N' Roses can't pen a decent tune without Izzy.
Anyways, I'm listening to Bowie's "Scary Monsters" right now. |
