side one: rocking. start me up - slave, T&A, mick's vocals on neighbors are so great. it rocks pretty hard.

side two: sexy sexy sexy. a handful of songs that can get a woman's pants off with all speed. closing with waiting on a friend - the SINGLE BIGGEST OMISSION from 40 licks.

Some Guy If they released this album today as a new album, it would rule planet earth for years to come. it would unite arabs and muslims, the shit is tight!
02-13-04 07:31 PM
glencar It didn't unite them the first time...

But anyway, "Neighbors" rocks & I'm glad it was done in the last tour.
02-13-04 08:05 PM
Some Guy One word: Heaven
02-13-04 08:14 PM
glencar Too wimpy. "Tops" & "Worried About You" are sublime, however.
02-13-04 09:00 PM
Some Guy Its not me.. Its not me.. Its not me Its not me!
02-14-04 12:15 AM
Soul Survivor Oh man, it's great. It's got it all.

Rockers: Start Me Up, Little T&A

Bluesy: Black Limousine

Almost Punk Type Rockers: Neighbours, Hang Fire

Funky Jam: Slave

Easy Listening?: Heaven

Ballads: Worried About You, Waiting On A Friend, No Use In Crying

Catchy: Tops (I don't know what it is, it doesnt seem like a ballad to me, i just know its damn catchy).

I'd say this was truly the last GREAT album. I'm not saying Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, and Bridges To Bablyon arent good, I love those too....but what album from the 'late' period is better than this (I consider the late period to start around Emotional Rescue, but thats just me)

scratched Listened to it last night on headphones for the first time (on headphones that is). I love it - side 2 is gorgeous!

I think it should have been called 'Seamless Joints' !

Everything in life has it's price, Ronald.
02-14-04 02:56 PM
glencar I always thought of "Tops" as a ballad. A priceless one, at that.

True dat, home pickle.
02-14-04 07:40 PM
UGot2Rollme I still find it hard to believe that TY was pieced together from previous studio stuff... maybe there's some more stuff in the more recent vaults that can be put together for their new CD
02-14-04 07:59 PM
glencar Of course there is. I'm amazed that "Honest Man" hasn't been released officially.
