scratched Here's the verse:

C - Fdim - Amin - E/G# - F - G

--------------C--------------Fdim
Its not the pale moon, that excites me

-----Am--------E/G#
That thrills, and delights me
-----F--G----------------------C---------G
Oh no, its just the nearness of you

Can't remember what the rest of the song goes like.

scratched Nora's version is amazing. More jazzy / bluesy. I've got Hoagy's somewhere too. Each version has a totally different arrangement.

glencar I might buy the N. Jones CD. It'll be the first non-Stones produit in a while.

scratched She's got a new one out at the minute. Not heard it but I've heard that the country and blues influence is more prominent and its a little more 'rootsy'. Might have to check it out.

glencar I've seen reviews for it & they're less positive than those for the first one.

Mathijs Keith doesn't strike the Fdim chord, he only hits the E and B on the E and A strings (which makes a F -9 chord). The A-flat key is not played by him, but Leavell playes it.

scratched Darryl plays the A flat bass too. There's no point looking to what Keith plays on this when working out the arrangement as he only plays partial chords. My interpretation was taking all instrumentation into account.
