LuckyWithTheLadies To those who have only seen Mick wearing a wig once and that was when he was beside Ms Faithful: have you seen the One Hit to the Body video????? Or the still pictures that came from that video shot??? That's a wig. It may look cool but it's a wig.

There has been something suspicous about Mick's hair since at least 1975. (By the by, Ollie Brown and Billy Preston both admit to wearing wigs on that tour.) To the dispassionate, unbiased observer it is obvious that Mick has used wigs and weaves over the years, most recently a very good weave. It can be very plainly seen in some shoots in 4Flicks. His hair unnaturally thick, but is bald underneath way back at his temples.

For extra credit watch the extended video he did for She's the Boss. The seen where he has his hair slicked back tight into a pony tail to go into the gambling casino shows what appears to be his real hair line (circa. 1984) - and it's receding. That slicked back hair do would be very hard to fake with a wig. However, a little professionally applied shoe polish would go a long away into reconstructing a hairline for VHS quality video.

It seems odd that Mr. Watts, the one who cropped his hair way back in '75 because he was going bald, is the one with the great hair now-a-days. The guy's a perfect example of a confident, manily, ageing, gentlemen proudly growing old - and he's a rock and roller too. I would suspect that professionaly applied Rogaine and Propecia, along with a great stylist, have given him that great 1920's era Chicago gangster look. No effeminate, sissy wig-hats on his head disguising who he really is. Other ageing rockers would do well to emulate him.

Ronald Reagan probably couldn't recall the real color of his hair even under oath - he dyed his hair a youthful black. "I aaaaaaaaaaaa.... I.... I don't recall."

No way in '75. Are you telling me at the end of Street Fighting Man he would take a bucket of water and pour it over his head every night if he were wearing a wig? Doubt it.
>>

I couldn't believe it either rabout the '75 tour, but I have read it in several books now, most notably Bill Wymans Rolling With the Stones, where he states that "Mick bought several wigs for the shows". Wyman states the same about the R&R Circus and Hyde Park. About Hyde Park he even states that "Mick had two new wigs for the show". I think R&R Circus is a bit obvious if you know it: his hair is too black to be Mick's.

By the way: the hair on the pic with Marianne Faithfull is the same hair as from the photoshoot at Olympic Studio during the BB sessions in 1968 (the pics with Ry Cooder).

I stand corrected. I posted that from my memory of the video from years ago. Did a little research at www.ilovemickjagger.com and see the error of my ways. It ain't a wig. It's a weave.

mickpic

That ain't 100% his real hair. And nothing will convince me otherwise.

Hmmmmm, this one looks a bit wiggish.
mickpic

You know there is one thing about the wig stituation that don't make sense. Mick has had, how shall we say, numerous affairs over the years, and no one has spilled the beans on him wearing a wig (except Bill Wyman). You would think that there would be a jilted lover somewhere that would tell all. My quess is the lad has always had a normal head of hair for a mere mortal his age - thinning and receding. But he uses a weave to keep a youthful thickness, which due to the continual receding is becoming more and more obvious, and has, over the years, worn wigs in concert and for photo shoots.

By the by, check out Mick's father. Little, short and skinny like his famous son -- and bald as an eagle.

My apologies to Cindy for hot linking her pics.

Colmes is a self-hating dem who is not permitted to argue with Hannity. His hair is part wig, part real, with different colors abound, and the "Topek" hair filler used generously.

I have never had a weave and have never known anyone closely who did. So I don't know much about how weaves work, but I think that with a weave his scalp would look normal, specially at the temples. Where there is no hair there is no weave. The weave creates the thickness that lays over the the bald temple area. This can be seen very clearly in recent concert pics.

If Keith is paying someone to make his hair look that bad he needs to stop immediately. I can't believe that anyone would go out of their way to get their hair to look that bad. Furthermore, once he started down the fake hair path why would he start wearing headbands to cover it up. In my opinion he should have shaved his head years ago. I think he would look like a rock and roll, hedonistic, badass with a bald head, earings, makeup, and his naturally wrinkled, shattered visage.

Nope can't do it.

Alas, I have no lushness to show. I've been losing my hair since I was 23. By the time I was 35 it was becomeing quit obvious to the casual observer. When I reached 39 I couldn't take it anymore. After researching various and astoundry hair systems, I cut it all off. Was on my way to shaving it, going shorter and shorter. And found a length that I think works -- very very short.

I will not wear a comb over. I will not wear a hair piece. I will not wear a weave. I will go proudly bald.

But to tell you the melancholy truth: it still ain't workin' with the ladies. I am still, sadly, unlucky in love.

luxury1 It's not a wig. Neither is it in the One Hit video. He happens to have the good hair gene. It is thinning a bit now, and may look dry at times due to the hair color and "bad" water while on tour. I know these things. I wear the bimbo badge with pride.....

IK joke around a lot, but I am 100% sure it is all natural...I think Keith wore a small piece a some shows as his bald spot did not show. However, the last show I was out, when he bowed, I saw his bald spot..He must wear it sometimes or put a lot of "filler" in his crown area.....

I have a video of a LONG interview Mick did with a reporter around the time of Undercover, I believe. Mick has LONG hair and the wind is blowing HARD. His hair gets beat all to hell and is blowing every single direction you can imagine. We are talking 40-50 mph gusts. I don't think it's a weave or a wig. If you watch him long enough you can see clearly distinct growth patterns at different lengths. I was watching the fan club video the other day and there is a shot where he is talking to the Indian movie producer and his hair on his left side (viewer's right), in front of his ear did this thing and fell into this pattern where his ear becomes exposed through his hair...and it's the same growth pattern I have seen since the late 60's. It does this in other areas as well, such as how it curls in the back and on the sides and his bangs. And then he has some bad hair days (like at Ronnie's London concert) where...well if that's a wig or a weave I'm not quite sure what he paid for. Good hair but appropriately slowly thining.

But a well done weave WILL look normal in high wind or when he's sweating to the oldies on stage, specially if he's got a pretty good head of natural hair to start with. (Sorry couldn't resist that oldies pun.) A wig will blow off in high wind. A weave won't. A wig makes fake looking hairlines. A weave uses the natural hairlines.

And some would say that a consistent hair growth pattern is the tell tell sign of fakery. When the hair never changes it's fake. Check Ronnie's do. Always the same length and always has that same clump of hair sticking up on top his head. Could be a coincedence, I don't know. Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, as I'm sure we all remember from our highschool American Lit. class. And I don't think the hair growth patterns mentioned above are noticeable on the '89 tour. What was noticable in '89, and from the back of the stadium with the lights dimmed, was the fact that whatever that thing on his head was it was fake.
