Some Guy

No good, can't speak, wound up, no sleep.
Sky diver insider her, skip rope, stunt flyer.
Wounded lover, got no time on hand.
One last cycle, thrill freak Uncle Sam.
Pause for bus'ness, hope you'll understand.
Judge and jury walk out hand in hand.
Dietrich movies, close up boogies,
Kissing cunt in Cannes.

Grotesque music, million dollar sad.
Got no tactics, got no time on hand.
Left shoe shuffle, right shoe muffle,
Sinking in the sand.
Fade out freedom, steaming heat on,
Watch that hat in black.
Finger twitching, got no time on hand.

Agreed! I can't even count the number of reasons why EXile is the greatest album and that's without even knowing this lyric...Kissing cunt in Cannes!!!

Throwaway Keith on bass, Jagger slurrin' words like a mother, and then comes one of Bobby's finest solos. Pure bliss, and its probably barely in the top ten on the album.

Riffhard "Kissing cunt in Cannes" has got to be one of their best bad boy lyrics. It's right up there with "I betcha keep yer pussy clean" and "Ali Macgraw was mad at you for giving head to Steve McQueen."

One of the things that always attracted me to the Stones was their ability to make raunch sound so goddamned cool.

Jaggedblues A beautiful song from rock's loftiest album.

Child of the Moon I still can't quite pinpoint why this song is so incredibly great, but I know that it is. There are so many factors at work here...

Casino Boogie. What a fuckin' brilliant tune.

glencar THOSE are the lyrics? LOL Pretty groovy tune.

"The greatest all-rounder" Michael Jackson (The World of Malt Whisky)
Many believe the unique character of Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky comes from the local peat beds which have absorbed the salt spray of centuries and which impart a rooty, heathery quality to the whisky.

Appearance: Glowing Amber
Nose: Balanced smokiness, sweetness, heathery, hint of sherry
Palate: Rounded smoky sweetness, full malt delivery
Finish: Teasing, heathery, delicious

Steel Wheels Casino Boogie is one of their best songs. Played loudly through a kick ass stereo system reveals their genius. The Rolling Stones are the Greatest for a reason, and this is one of them!

Mel Belli Lyrics by Keith, no? Cut-and-paste technique? That would explain why nothing makes any sense. Great song, in any case.

sammy davis jr. It's in the top three of my all-time favorite Stones songs. Very hypnotic groove, great fade out leads by MT. Jagger claims to not like it much, which figures.

andrews27 I liked the "Kissing cunt in Cannes" line better when I thought it was "Can't stand cutting cane." (Slavery reference.) Keith's harmony vocal puts that "cane" sound on it.

F**k! How great it would be if they were smart enough that Mick sang the one and Keith sang the other right on top of it!

fireontheplatter i really dig the music to this song..but they vocals/lyrics sound like a bunch of nonsenseable babble to me.
if someone can break the song down..go right ahead

CrissCrossMind I would not say the song is about nothing or anything ... each of us are to hear our own experiences & applied knowledge with the song as usual ... it may have been a "Bowie" moment ... with the cut paste thing ... free association of whatever comes to mind in the South of France ... and you can dance tio it ... CCM

for me, the songs about a hangover - confused words, 'wound up, no sleep',

I always heard, "Protest music - million dollar fad."

It sounds like an old headline regurgitated into the song, which seems to describe Mick's state of mind after shuttling back and forth between the casinos and the Nellcote basement.

You have to accept some imperfections in Keno's site. I'm the guy that, a few years ago, supplied him the last line about John Wayne in "Star Star" (from my ungarbled Canadian copy), and got him to change "Make you shut your eyes to every woman that you meet," in "Shine a Light" to the more artful pun, "Making bloodshot eyes at every woman that you meet." The latter sounds more like the record, and more like Mick describing Keith, waking up in his clothes and Berber jewelry.

Casino Boogie As far as groove goes, maybe only Fingerprint File rivals this track. Ridiculous how it's never been played live.

Glimmer Twin Great song from the greatest album ever. Thanks.

no night together well thanks agent, for some reason it was ages since I listened to this great song. to me too, lyrics are disconnected but if you walk around nellcote, have a tour around the surronding crowded places you get the glue to nearly (or all) the pieces.
