TRAIN NOT IN VAIN!
JOE STRUMMER is to have the most unlikely of tributes to him – a locomotive named in his honour.
The train, simply named Joe Strummer, will be unveiled on February 12 at Bristol Temple Meads station in recognition of the late Clash singer.
Strummer died in December 2002, aged 50.
The locomotive is a Class 47 diesel, a designed in 1962 and after being named, will work in East Anglia.

Kind of a strange tribute/memorial... I'm just 10 years too late to see it... I use to live in East Anglia... (Watton)... Farm country for the most part, if memory serves... I still remember the little pump trucks that use to come `round and suck all the sewage tanks, for use on the local crops... The smell for the two weeks after the "spreading" was unforgetable, to say the least...
I'm coming back as soon as the lotto winnings come in... |
