The best header into Rocks Off history! Is that pic from the "Don't Look Back" era?
Thank you!
February 6th, 2005 09:52 PM
Gazza yeah - same summer, June '78

We decided to change the header today (6th Feb) in honour of what would have been Bob Marley's 60th birthday.

It's a damn shame your fair city's brand spanking new " Sprint Center Arena " is still years away from completion .
Let's see ..... your gonna miss out on the following ' ARTISTES ' THIS year alone : MACCA , U2 , THE WHO , & a little ol' band called THE ROLLING STONES !!!!!!!!!!

***** JOEY NOW HUNCHED OVER HIS COMPUTER WITH HIS HAND OVER HIS MOUTH AND GIGGLING TO HIMSELF ******

I guess this means you will have to see the Stones up here in Omaha at our Brand Spanking New , Twenty Thousand Seat , State - of - the - Art , QWEST CENTER ARENA and ...............W- W- W- What ?!?!?! ......No ?!?!?! ..............Well , I guess that just leaves Des Moines , IA and THEIR new arena then ... , Huh ?!?!

thejuf Yes!!!!
I watched them play, all three of them : Tosh in 1979, Marley in 1980 and Sir Mick on several other occasions...
Got very stoned at the Marley gig in Rotterdam....
Tosh played in Amsterdam and I seemed to be the only white person in the audience...

Madafaka You don't care enough to read about Peter Tosh... He with Bob founded The Wailers! You're missing something important into the music world. Uncle Bob could be sad if he could read your post!

I saw the video for this the other day on VH-1 Classic (GREAT station!). Forget the name of the song already, though. Good tune, though like all white men performing on stage with black men, Mick looks a little goofy.

The duet is "(You Got To Walk And) Don't Look Back in the album "Bush Doctor"

... and Keith played in two songs in the same album "Bush Doctor" and "Stand Firm"

Peter was the opening act for some shows in the 1978 Tour, on at least seven dates Mick was a guest in the Peter Tosh set, on of them is the day of the picture (June 19, 1978)

His rhythm section Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare attended the Undercover sessions

The Stones played "Too Rude" a cover of Sly & Dunbar in the Dirty Work album

Etc

Etc

Peter Tosh was tragically murdered at his home in Jamaica by three gunmen in 1987

February 7th, 2005 11:10 PM
Madafaka Jagger and Tosh played 'Don't Look Back' together on SNL circa 1978, 'violentkind' sent me a copy of that dvd. Great performance!

Bitch Remember the original meaning of GAY meant HAPPY. MICK does not look gay, he looks happy, and stoned.

Does anyone remember a kidnapping plot involving MICK & Bob Marley?? It was back in the 80's, a plot to kidnap MICK was uncovered, and did not go down as planned. Somehow Bob Marley was involved in the set up.....
