Paulcarr87 I think we all agree that the Stones have not performed their last shows in the U.S. However my question to everyone is, do you think we have seen the last stadium tour in the U.S.? Do you think they will stick exclusively to the arenas now?

Paul

swapwoodfortaylor Where you coming from?!
$ talk. Future tours are more likely to be Stadium only. So long as we don't have those terrible field jobs...that's fine by me.

jb In all candor, they had a very difficult time filling Stadiums in the major markets this tour....I think no bands, including the Stones, can fill these 60,000 plus stadiums like the old days...particularly where the average price is 90.00 dollars and above for just average seats.

parmeda Hi jb...
I don't know, hon...Soldiers Field is almost finished with it's renovation, should be completed before the beginning of the new football season. If the boys come back to town, I'm almost positive they'll play there...and pack the place, not once, but twice.

That's what I'm pulling for! A nice "christening" so-to-speak...

jb Pam, if they only play the stadium and skip the United Center, you might be correct.

I was thinking the same thing Pam. In the major markets
they could sell out the stadiums fairly easy.

Sounds corny but it also depends on what night of the week they play. In Chicago I had a lot of friends who couldn't go because on thing or the other with their kids or work
because they played on Tues & Weds.

parmeda You know Tele...I can't remember the last time they played here when it fell on a weekend. I think on the No Security tour, one show was on a Friday...and I only remember that because it was my anniversary. (Kudos to my hubby for great seats as a present that year too, LOL!)
So we really haven't had that hard of a time with ticket sales...it doesn't matter what day of the week, MAKE ARRANGEMENTS IF YOU NEED TO
I would love to see them at Soldiers Field, any day...

I think your right on the Friday night for NS Tour.
It seems it is always a Tuesday or Wed.

I always remember the last show they played in the US
Their Visas were going to expire and they had to get out of the US so they squeezed in one last show in Chicago and caught a flight out right after.

God love em.

Maxlugar I don't want another stadium tour personally because those Theatre shows are so much better than the stadium shows.

Whew, that took a lot out of me....

So lets recap, shall we?:

1) Maxy like small shows.
2) He hopes they will gravitate to the small show tour in the future.
3) The set lists were head and shoulders better than the Hot Rocks set lists.
4) The songs were played with more heart and soul.
5) The crowds get more into it.
6) The Stones themsleves will look more foward to doing tous if they are smaller.
7) Smaller shows with longer duration in each city will cut down on travel for them.
8) A two week stay in NYC doing Rosland and The Appollo is inevitable.
9) If the tours seem like less work, Charlie will not complain.
10) Less travel and more playing will only improve their shows.
11) Mick Taylor will come back as he already only does small shows.
12) Bill Wyman will come back as he hates flying.
13) Maxy like small shows.

MmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMAXY!

GimmeExile A lot of people are fed up with stadium shows. Many Washingtonians didn't want to go to FedExField this year because of bad memories from 1997. Now many will have bad memories of FedExField in 2002 because of the traffic into lot and a $25 parking fee + $90 ticket + $15 service charge.

Nonetheless, FedEx 10/4/02 was a phenomenal show.

I do think they'll play primarily arenas from now on. Maybe a Giants Stadium show and a SF or LA stadium show.

Joey Gotta go with " Club Shows Only " because if I hear " Brown Sugar " and " IORR " and all the other Hot Rocks tunes one more time in concert -- Joey Barfs ( all over the place ).

.................and we sure as Hell do not want THAT to happen , do we ?

DO WE ?????????????????????????????????????????????

MP i'm turned off lately with the stadium shows...went to Gillette..sound sucked, whipping wind, cold.....would rather see them in arena

Sir Stonesalot I think you'll see smaller venues with extended engagements....Casinos & Theatres. A month at the Joint, a month at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, 2 weeks at the Fillmore in San Fran...and the same in Europe...or anywhere else that can pay their price.

And the tix won't be $50.00 for club gigs next time...
