Anyone at that concert...LA Feb 6...who noticed Steve Perry (Journey) in the audience?? that is the word out there...looking for confirmation! |

Wonder if he got better treatment than he did in Buffalo in '81!!
If I had seen him, I'd have asked him which Einstein had the brilliant idea to wedge his lil' "Whoa oooo ohs" between George Thorogood and the Stones.
I'll give him credit -- Journey was making bucks with record sales at the time and was handling some pretty big shows.
In Buffalo, September 27, 1981, it didn't matter.
He got a lil' western NY hospitality -- a lots of boos, fingers, "fuck you's and the occasional projectile.
Wonder what it feels like to Steve to see Mick -- a guy that was doing it better 10 years before anyone ever heard of Journey -- and who is still doing it better 20 years after Journey had its moment!

Like Mick or Keith could come up with a classic like "Oh, Sherry." |

Guy had a great voice though, wasted in Journey. |

I heard that he was originally asked to do a guest spot during CYMK. Apparently he was going to cover Bobby's sax solo and play a nose solo instead. I've heard his nose is still in perfect tune after all these years. So the story goes,he had a head cold in Los Angeles and wasn't up for the gig. It's a shame. I'd have loved to a treed that fucking show!
