pilot69 New Uncut mag (sold at Borders here in the midwest US )is 40th anniversary special of the band with CD of 17 covers for 8 bucks. Outstanding photos and the CD is worth it just for vintage Johnny Winter doing JJ Flash. Don't miss it.

T&A There are two versions of the CD. 33 different cuts altogether. They are both well-worth having. Some killer covers on both discs. 2 different mag covers, too.

Jacques Hi all
I can't find Uncut issues in my town.
I know we can order them on Uncut website.
1- which month issue is it, december or january or another one ?
2- They apparently sell only one version ?
Thanks in advance for your help

February, 2002. I must admit, I'm not too fond of the disc. The volume I have (I think vol. 2) has a live version of JJF by J. Winter from 1969 which is quite good.
The cover for Sympathy (forget the performer) is, imo, a disgrace. For those who haven't heard it, it's an attempt to have Satan as the narrator in a Rob Zombiesque tone.
It's different, I'll give it that.

quackenbush I was lucky enough to get the last two copies
at my local Borders. There are 33 different bands the Stones have influenced on these discs. Here are the most
outstanding tracks, in my oppinion:

Vol 1

Blind Boys-I Just Wanna See His Face
Jonny Dowd-Mother's Little Helper
Luther Allison-You Can't Always Get What You Want

Vol 2

MC5- Empty Heart
The Ramones-Out of Time
The Meat Puppets-What to Do
The Flying Pickets-Get Off My Cloud

If I'm not mistaken, this is the same rendition that's on PAINT IT BLUE.

T&A It is the same Luther Allison cut as on Paint it Blue. The cover of Backstreet Girl on Vol.2 is pretty cool. I forget the artist, but it's "sung" in kind of a Lou Reed style.

quackenbush Most of the songs on Vol 1 and 2 appear on other
cds. Only four of the songs are exclusively on
Gimme Shelter. If you read Uncut(the title sounds
like a gay porno mag), there is a brief description
of each of the songs.

Lazy Bones Brief descriptions are also given in microscopic font in the discs' sleeve. But if memory serves me correctly, additional appearances are not listed.

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board.
The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
