Topic: Opening Video/Pyrotechnics Before Shows Return to archive
02-08-03 09:14 PM
Martini Today I was watching a boot video of the '99 tour and admiring that pre-recorded video that they used to open the shows that year of the band walking through the catacombs of an arena.

It got me thinking that although the tour has been awesome this year, the shows have been a little too minimalist in terms of the video/pyrotechnic spectacle at the beginning of the shows, at least in my opinion. It seems that they haven't even used the video screens until a few songs into the set. Since I was pretty far back when I saw the band last year, it was kind of a bummer to see my favorite band look like matchsticks for the first few tunes. I'm wondering what some of your opinions might be regarding this matter.

Of course, I'm still a little sentimental about the steel cobra from '94. That was a nice opening touch. Does anyone here know who owns it? I think it would look great in my backyard. LOL.
