Well I kinda qualify, Born & bred in and around London, but I've lived on & off in OZ for many moons now, still I'll let the real TRUE BLUE, DINKY-DYE-"Pass us anuver stubbie Bruce!" Aussies judge that one. |

the decision is all yours gmf - the answer lies in your heart
btw/ you don't have to subscribe to the "pass us anuver stubbie" school to be a "fair dinkum" aussie

Too true.
I think in the last few years (particulalry during and since the Olympics) there has been a big move to people wanting to mark their 'auusieness', which is lame. All this resurgence in the wearing of terry-towelling hats, navy blue singlets etc. I've got nothing against these clothes, but I think people are grabbing them for the wrong reasons. There's more but I just can't think of them right now.
Stuff like those stickers "Real aussies drive utes" pisses me off. I want to put a sticker over them that says "Real aussies don't advertise".
Of course I don't really care if people do these things, it's just an observation.
Oh yeah, and while I'm having a rant, I'm sick of the term 'punters' being used. And the phrase "for mine" during football commentary. And people wearing sunglasses on their head when they go out at night.

exile - while it hasn't been cast in stone - i've got it pencilled in - so the odds on me showing are at least 50/50 at the moment

It wasn't meant as a put down. It was meant as a little light hearted fun.....besides, I see nothing wrong with the pass us anuver stubbie school, anymore than I see anything wrong with say; going to the cricket and being lumped in with The Barmy Army because I'm wearing a T-shirt with A St. George Cross across it. I'm also fully aware after so many years that not every one here is named Bruce, more light hearted humour, nothing else.......If the decision is all mine then I shall opt for a very diplomatic 50/50, but I still need a Aussie Green card, or is that a green& gold card?

Actually a cockney expression adopted by Australians during the mid 80s. |

Hi fellas - better late than never. I'm from downunder too. Probably further downunder than the rest of you. I reckon I'm the only person on the list from Tassie!!!
Can't make it to Sydney but I'll be at all three Melbourne shows - 20 more days and counting!!
