Topic: Here's an mp3 of my band (nsc) Return to archive
January 31st, 2005 11:47 AM
FPM C10 Well, it's not actually my whole band - it's my girlfriend Erica (vocals) and me (bass) sitting in with one of my area's best blues bands, Nate & the Aces. We were in the audience and got called up to the bandstand to sit in (actually we were standing up!)and we just found out they were recording and posted the mp3.

I'm pretty happy with how it came out, especially considering we didn't know we were going to be called upon to perform and had been drinking for a few hours beforehand.

So check it, bleeds, and let me know what you think!
Go to http://www.natemyers.com/live.htm and click on "Sitting On Top of the World".

You should listen to the rest of the mp3s too. Nate & the boys are awesome. They recorded their new album, "The Lonesome Plowboy", in Clarksdale MS with Jimbo Matthus (Buddy Guy, Squirrel Nut Zippers). I'm mighty proud to call them my friends.

I actually have no idea how you do it. That was from my friends' website. I BELIEVE you just put the CD under your pillow with a check for $35 made out to the "mp3 fairy" , but I may be wrong.

Is that good, Moy? We don't have mermaids around here so I have no idea how they sing.

Riffhard Sweet FPM! Very nice voice Erica has,and what a nice tight little bass line ya got working there. Now if only you can talk Hubert into letting you two jam with his band in March! Well, you can always dream monkeyman!

Well, actually, THEY all left Mitch. Dunno what the real story is there, but Mitch still does about 1 gig a month as Krypton City Blues Revue, and I wanna go see HIM too.

The Aces play every Friday at Underdog's in the 'Burg, which is where that was recorded. They were at the Bierhaus Saturday - Dale was on drums. He is a GOD. A grumpy, shaggy GOD.

Sorry I didn't call, but I heard you were sick.

Please read thread below regarding Hubert Sumlin at BB King's.

I got the Pixies CDs from 12/5.

Um...what else...we're playing the Vets on Feb 19 with Tim & Eric. Be there!

Sir Stonesalot Flea, speaking of the Pixies...I taped Austin City Limits, so you can have the tape after I dub it over to DVD.

I also got that Dolls reunion show from London on DVD. I think we need to borrow one of our pals big loud giant TVs to watch it on.

And I'll be there on the 19th. I got oodles of comp time to burn.
