"Don't Drop The Soap" Board Game
The Jawa Report

(Topeka, Kansas) Currently being sold on the Internet is a prison-themed board game called "Don't Drop the Soap." The game is understandably not suitable for children.

The game (image) includes:

- 19" x 19" Don't Drop The Soap™ Gameboard
- 5 Collectible Criminal Tokens
- 7 Decks of Prison Location Cards
- 7 Snap-On Location Icons
- Soap Dish Parole Card Holder
- Deck of Parole Cards
- Stack of Play Cigarettes
- Pair of Dice
- Book of Instructions

Created by John Sebelius, the 23-year-old son of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, the game sells for $34.99 plus packaging, shipping and handling through this website (contact information listed as the Kansas Governor's mansion).

Reportedly, the game idea is supported by both John's mother, the Governor of Kansas, and father, U.S. Magistrate Judge Gary Sebelius.

Grandson of ex-Ohio governor creates prison-themed board game

Associated Press - January 28, 2008 9:05 AM ET

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) - The grandson of former Ohio governor John Gilligan is selling a prison-themed board game called "Don't Drop the Soap."

Twenty-3-year-old John Sebelius (seh-BEEL'-yuhs) developed the game as part of a class project at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Sebelius' mother is Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, whose spokeswoman says she's proud of her son's creativity and talent.

The Web site for the game says players may have to escape prison riots in The Yard, slip glass into a mob boss' lasagna in the Cafeteria or steal painkillers from the Infirmary on the way to winning by being granted parole.

andrews27 Wow - are the majority of prisoners African-American, in on drug crimes? Is there a play option for privately contracted prisons? Can the guards commit rape and smuggle contraband?
