Well I would argue vigorously that the Democratic Party is the party that never helps those that it claims to care so much about! Giving people handouts for over fifty years has done absolutly nothing to get these people off the welfare dole. In fact it has done nothing more than to create a welfare state within the black community. It has also allowed the fathers inside the black community to abandon their children to the state. They have done so in overwhelming numbers! That is almost entirely the Dems fault. Dems embrace the race husslers like Sharption and Jackson, and bend over backwards not to offend anyone in the black community while it continues to provide free handouts that just reward the pathetic lifestyle choices that inner city blacks continue to make.

70% of all black males will do time in the criminal justice system. Over 70% of inner city black males grow up without a father figure! Why? Because Dems insist on continuing the " government dependence" relationship that they have fostered withing the black community. Hey at least they're guaranteed the black vote, huh? The Dems want to offer the government tit to suckle from every chance they get. Why? "Well, Riffy, because they care more than the Republicans do!" Uh,.....BULLSHIT!! The Dems want to keep everyone they can on the tit of the almighty government just they can keep them on a short leash and have power over them!

That people can not see this obvious fact has always astounded me. Look what liberals call any black that is a Republican or conservative. Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harrassment on a charge that was purely bogus and over ten years old at the time of his SC hearings. He was then slammed as an Uncle Tom. Likewise for Colin "House Boy" Powell. Condeleeza Rice has been called an Aunt Thomasina! Funny, huh? I thought Dems/libs were against racism! I guess that doesn't count when were talking about Republican blacks?

Given the fact that it was the Republican party that was responsible for every major civil rights law to get passed and written into law you'd think that people would have enough decency to learn the truth about which party has been using the race card and the class warfare card ad nauseum for years.

Here's a clue-----> IT'S BEEN THE DEMOCRATS ALL ALONG!!!!

tumbled I come from a long line of teachers with quaker tendencies. It comes out in the wierdest places sometimes.

I think Hillary is decent and so is Obama, but Hillary is just a tad bit more experienced, plus we get Bill to go along with the ride, and two heads are better than one.

Democrats do not give handouts. THis is just another instance of the oversimplification of complex issues into soundbites to herd the ignorant masses into agreeing with the mentality of those who wish to not participate in ocntributing to the wellbeing of the general public, avoiding any taxes by anymeans necessary yet reaping the benefits from those who DO PAY THEIR TAXES such as ME, is the cause of the disintegration of our common quality of life. and the anger and hatred of this writer toward those who think they are above the law. why should I obey the law when nobody else does

How in the world do you find that oh-so-true reasoning twisted?! If you continue to reward bad behaviour what do think is going to happen? Every single study has shown that inner city black fathers abondon their kids at an alarming rate. Daddy Government then picks up the slack. So the cycle continues. Dems get the votes and the black community gets the shaft. How heart warming, huh?

In psychology they call it a "co-dependant" relationship. Democrats have been fostering this relationship for years.

tumbled Riffy I feel sorry for you to carry around this theory and having to find strange logic to support it.

It can't be that black men can't find a decent paying job could it?? food stamps didn't cause them to commit crime. Why are black men not pursuing higher education either?

but beyond that, Since When do republicans like yourself even give a dam about the welfare of black men and black familes anyway. just when its convenient in a political discussion.. Its very strange that you have picked this issue to discuss.

I can tell that you have been drinking from the good old Kool-Aid that the Dems have sold so many unsuspecting dupes. You really feel that I don't care about the black community?! Get outta here with that sterotypical BS. Dems have had the black community on a leash for a long time now. Have you heard what Bill Cosby has had to say about this situation? Or Colin Powell? Or even Clarence Thomas? Every single one them says exactly what I have stated! They all say the exact same thing.

If you give a whole class of people absolutly no incentive to improve their lives you get what we have in the inner city black community. You get government dependence and a lack of motivation for self improvment. That you would try and claim racism for the very party that wrote into law every major civil rights bill tells me all I need to know about your historical perspective on this very real crisis that is facing the black community in American cities today.

Jesse Jackson once said that the black community is looking for a "hand up" not a "hand out". Yet try and cut or curb any of these cradle to grave programs that Dems have burdened tax payers with and you get a very different reality from that race baiter Jackson! Then we hear the shrill scream of racism.

That you continue to cry racism is absurd! It is the exact opposite! I think that everyone should have the same fundamental rights to the American Dream. However, if you continue to coddle an entire class of people and then constanly point to racism (ie-evil Republicans!) as the root cause for all their woes what do you think you're gonna get in return? You're gonna get bitter people that constantly have their hand out, and in return the Dems get votes. Cynical? Yes, but sadly true.

who's coddling anybody?

you are very mixed up Riffy. But living in Georgia, I guess you see a lot of poverty and have to try and figure out why such class distinctions. I grew up the minority in public school. Over 50% in elementary and jr. high were
black, but they were just as smart as we were and also, we had very good teachers. I don't know anyone who collects welfare or food stamps. I moved outside of DC metro area in southern northern virginia and away from the yuppies now I see a lot of people trying to get by on probably a fairly low income because of few jobs in the area.

Very mixed up? What the hell are you talking about? I am stating the very same exact thing that many people inside the black community are saying themselves!!!!!! Tell Bill Cosby that he's mixed up. Tell it to the black leaders that are brave enough to come out and say, "We must start taking on the responsibility for our own communities!" Hell even that racist extrondinaire Louis Farrakhan says it.

Democrats love to demonize the Republican party as a party of racists. That is pure bullshit!! Tumbled it was the Republican Party that pushed for every single major civil rights bill to be put into law!!! The Democrats, including Al Gore's own father, were staunchly against them! Get your facts straight! Try reading a little about the history of the civil rights movement and see who supported it, and who was against it!

The Democrat Party has been hijacked by George Soros,Media Matters,MoveOn.org,etc. I no longer consider it a great party. I was a card carrying memebr of the Dem Party for over twenty years. To provide a more accurate reflection of what is happening in the market and better capture the range of work systems integrators and IT contractors are winning, we worked with market research firm FedSources and increased the product service codes from 117 to more than 600 that we used to analyze the procurement data. Ten Thousand Motels "War's a racket" General Smedley D. Butler

"This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

Dwight D. Eisenhower
