Jan 30 – WASHINGTON DC — A classified briefing prepared last week by the White House Party Planning Committee (WHPPC) portrays the highly
scrutinized, upcoming White House Super Bowl Party as edging toward chaos.

For the last month, the WHPPC has been nervously tracking the trajectory
of their party’s E-vite responses. However, in a last minute dramatic shift, that the White House did not foresee, an inordinate amount of “maybes” have turned into “no’s” -- throwing the hopes of even a halfway decent party into great unlikelihood.

Experts fault the White House for rushing into a party that many feel
they should not have been throwing in the first place. “I could see if
the Redskins were in the Super Bowl or even the Baltimore Ravens, but the
White House really has no business going at it alone for a Bears/Colts Super Bowl party,” says Todd Jacobs of the Brookings Institute. “They
would have been far better served partnering up with someone who has a vested interest in the game, like a few Congressmen from the Chicago area, and then together throwing a joint party. Instead, the White House has got a huge mess on their hands and their hands alone.”

Despite signs indicating the White House Super Bowl Party is heading for disaster, with only White House Staffers and Joe Lieberman rsvp-ing "yes", the White House and President Bush in particular, remain resolute in salvaging the affair. Bush himself has asked his staff to appropriate an additional $2000 from petty cash to support a surge of 200 more pizzas.

"I began to think,” said President Bush while at Sports Authority picking up some gear for Super Bowl Sunday, 'If failure is not an option, and we've got to succeed, how best to do so?' And that's how I came up with the pizza plan," Bush said. “Cuz everybody loves pizza.”

Bush believes the only option besides boosting pizza levels would be to cancel the party, a move supported by Democrats and some Republicans but one Bush called tantamount to a really boring Super Bowl Sunday.

Trey Krimsin Even the rumor of twenty nude go-go dancers and newly installed stripper poles couldn't get people to go to this party. It is a sad day in DC.
