U2 Aren't Ruling Out Hip Hop For Next Album
by Eve Jenkin
February 6 2006
Many were surprised when U2 announced that Kanye West would be the support for their latest tour, but the surprises keep coming thick and fast with band admitting the rapper has inspired them to dabble in hip hop.
According to a Femalefirst.co.uk article, the band’s altruistic front man Bono modestly stated “I happen to be in really a truly great band, and experimentation has been the lifeblood of this band…We, of course, will look and are looking across at hip-hop and see the amazing innovation in the studio.” Despite the fact the band are still touring for their last album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb they are already looking towards the future.
Bono has been busy as always spreading his word of charity to those in power, and recently made a speech in front of George W Bush urging him to enforce a 1% tithe on the US National budget. He explained that the money would go towards aiding widows and other such socially and economically troubled citizens. That hasn’t spared Bono from the wrath of the infamous Paul Weller however, who as reported by Gigwise.com said “The whole thing of Bono becoming the Pope - what the fuck’s all that about? Pseudo-American rubbish.”
