Ten Thousand Motels HITCHCOCK NAMED BEST DIRECTOR NEVER TO WIN OSCAR

ALFRED HITCHCOCK has been named the best director to have never won an OSCAR, in a new poll of British movie fans.

The legendary PSYCHO film-maker was nominated six times between 1941 and 1961 but never received an ACADEMY AWARD.

MARTIN SCORSESE - who is favourite to finally win the top award this year (05) with THE AVIATOR - came second in the list, while A CLOCKWORK ORANGE icon STANLEY KUBRICK came third.

The poll, voted for by viewers of British cable channel TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES (TCM), also featured the biggest stars never to have won a Best Actor Oscar.

PULP FICTION star SAMUEL L JACKSON came top, followed by STEVE McQUEEN and RICHARD BURTON.

CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE actress DEMI MOORE was named the best actress never to have won a Best Actress Oscar followed by MEG RYAN and MARILYN MONROE.

A spokesperson for TCM says, "The poll shows an encouraging amount of support and loyalty from the UK public for many British actors and film-makers."

This ain't no feckin spelling bee...unlike shidoobeem, there is no spell check...I am wealthy and have my secretary type my dictation...i don't need to type accurately to please you...Oregon isn't exactly a cultural oasis.....indeed, they passed a law banning gay marriage....shame .....You think you can come over to my board and give me grammar lessons...You have really overstayed your welcome...Again, I ask you, return to either the lounge, rs.com. shidoobee, gasx3, but leave me alone...you are ruining my day !!!!!!!!

glencar Joshy, it wouldn't be right to try to ban anyone. Especially to Dullsville, er, GasX. As for gays, they're probably a lot better off up in Oregon than down in FLA. BTW I self-edited myself last night at shidobe. I just didn't want the usual gang of hens getting their suual feathers ruffled. I'm getting softer in my old age.

I would never ask for anyone to be banned...this is strictly voluntary...I trust kath51 will comply.
