Lazy Bones I've got the London trio coming and they simply aren't arriving soon enough! Not only are the sets jaw-dropping, but the performances were stellar.

TheSavageYoungXyzzy I have an MP3 of decent quality of "Quinn The Eskimo" from that concert and it's jaw-dropping. He just growls and brays his way through it, and the harp is downright brilliant.

Anyone who thinks this man is washed up needs to have their head examined. Wildly uneven, maybe. Washed up? You wish.

Phog That's the show, MD. I wonder if it's the same source. Mine has damn fine sound--crowd not too intrusive, all instruments are clearly heard, etc...
01-25-04 08:29 PM
Lazy Bones Ahh...that's a thing of beauty! That's the one.

Comments and reviews (for those interested) about that show are, aplenty, here:

Phog Lazy Bones,

When you get this show you will not be disappointed. Do tell us about the other two theater gigs when you've listened to them.

I should have the set by the time I get home from dinner

Phog, I am sure that it is (probably even has a few less gens). The folks that seed all those dylan pools also put the stuff up for d/l in lossless (which is the exact same waveform data used to burn the audio seed discs).

I am looking forward to listening to this when I return tonight.

Quality: Excellent Must Have / Soundboard

A fabulous show that all Dylan fans should have: a "Must Have" according the
Bobsboots.com. There is the Drammen show plus taking advantage of the entire CDs 8
additional tracks from the Rainbow Music Hall, Denver January 22, 1980 are included.
All songs sound fabulous and Dylan's singing is incredible. Quote from Bobsboots.com:

Review:
This 2 CD package is an absolute 'must have' for fans of the gospel period. Both shows are
smooth, full, warm, and well mixed in a fantastic quality; right from the soundboard. The
bonus tracks are from an intended, but never released CBS live album. 8 page booklet,
great photos, and beautiful picture discs. Highly recommended

mac_daddy re: the Shepherd's Bush boot

I enjoyed the whole thing - great show! Great to hear Dear Landlord. LARS is fun, and an interesting Watchtower closes the show. Recommended.

_____

I have got to say however that the "Knife, Fork" show from Toledo has go to be my favorite of the "recent" Dylan stuff I have received in a while.
_____

so is Shepherd's Bush an area of London? What is an Empire (venue)? what is an empire pool (the Stones played there)? oh, and what is an AHOY (or is it Ahoy)? there are a few of those around, too. [note that I am not f*cking around; these are all serious questions]
01-26-04 01:03 PM
Factory Girl Yes, Lazy that was me, and thanks kindly for the offer.

Review:
This 4 CD Crystal Cat release is absolutely breath-taking. The recordings represent both
days of the 1996 Christiania venue in crystal clarity. The music is mixed to perfection,
and the vocals are full and out front. Both days together constitute an incredible 26
different songs. The packaging is as superb as the music. The storage box romantically
harkens to the early '80s CD longbox package. For a vinyl collector who fought the CD
revolution, I have to laugh at myself for that statement. It includes a full color
booklet with wonderful photos of the magical, cartoon-like Christiania. The jewel case
artwork and standard logo full color discs are further evidence of a Label at the top
of their game.

This is the Dandelion boot (DL 022/23). The Railway boot (RW 02) of the same show and title, consists of only 1/2 the performance.

mac_daddy thanks for the info...

Dandelion do a nice job with finding nice exra tunes to fill out the discs; same thing with Rattlesnake. Unfortunately both seem to do alot of post-processing, as well...

gospel-era Bob isnt my fave, but I enjoy this show much more than the Warfield shows I picked up a few weeks back...
