I know they performed Gimme Shelter and YCAGWYW on Ed Sullivan show in 1969. Did they perform Love In Vain? |

Yes, they did Love in vain. I love the ragged looks of the boys on the 1969 Sullivan show. I have a tape where all their Sullivan shows follow each other, chronologically. It's really fun to see how much they change in only a year or two.

And Keith was pretending to play slide on the Dan Armstrong? My memory is a bit blurry. |

I think Keith weighed about 110 lbs when that was filmed. And people say he looks dead now . . . he was really freaky looking during that taping. |

They didn't do YCAGWYW on Ed Sullivan. They did GS, HTW and Love In Vain. (Everyone goes on about seeing the Beatles in '64, but THIS is the Ed Sullivan show that changed MY life.)
As was the norm in 1969, they mimed to backing tracks while Mick sang live.
I saw them do YCAGWYW on the David Frost show that year. |
