Whew! Scared me for a minute there. But, I had to laugh at this post..."MacLagan and Wood cackle from piano-dropping ledge"
I'd love to see Mac & Woody together again! I'm not familiar with Chuck and haven't seen him play live before, but Mac fit so perfectly with the Stones. I asked this on another thread, but does anyone know why the Stones stopped having Mac on studio albums/tours? I saw Mac recently in Austin - we sat right next to him at the Hammond. My head is still spinning...he is such as amazing talent.

I wondered too. I was told that Mac is a very bad influence on Ronnie, you know, Faces-style drinking and partying during the '81 tour, with Jo running into Keith's room crying, saying Ronnie was either incoherantly drunk or doing lines on every available surface.
So we have our boy Ronnie's bad habits to thank for the Lac of Mac. Mick and Keith both worked to get Ronnie off blow, but Keith was nothing but trouble when it came to drinking, as Keith could handle it and Ronnie couldn't, but Keith was very much the guy Ronnie followed around all the time.
And my guess is the Stones (or at least Mick and Jo, Charlie and Keith don't care, when Ronnie told Keith he was quitting Keith gave him some helpful words of wisdom: "I can't tell the difference between you drunk and sober..." or something along those lines) are still very protective of Ronnie, almost a year on the wagon. So no Mac this tour.
Damn.

Maybe that could have been a concern in the past, but Mac has been clean since the mid-80s. He even stopped smoking cigarettes. He only drinks in moderation now. He drinks water only during the gigs, and then treats himself to a few Guinnesses afterwards. In fact, he said his Christmas present this year is that Woody is sober. I think Mac would actually be a great influence on Woody now. I've been around him and his band at several gigs, and it's all about the music now. I guess I should ask Mac for his opinion on the Stones gig question...why don't they call??? Especially since he and Woody are so close, but I guess Woody has no say in it? |

What to you think about Nathan East (from actual line-up of Clapton's band) on bass? (I don't hate Darryl too).
But, I mean really, why they need Lisa or Blondie Chaplin? The voice of Lisa in almost every song kills the spirit of song, oh my God, why this bitch sings a kind of Opera on Satiscaction? Why they need her? Why? we'll never know...............
I love to see every live apperances without this trash people (Blondie Chaplin, Lisa, sometimes Bernard). A perfect example is Let's Spend the Night Together: no Lisa, no Blondie Chaplin, up-tempo on songs, which shows the thrill and power of Keith, Ronnie really insane(see him jumping on Mick's shoulder and falling)......... hum, pretty!
Sorry anything my brothers, this is my point of view, but I think the only background vocals that I want to hear is Keith and Ronnie together sharing one microphone.
