StonesChick The is one of the greatest songs ever written by my most favorite poet.

Witnessed it live on No Security and it was really beautiful.

I love this song.

rolling who A hauntingly beautiful song about life on the road, one of my all-time fav Stones song.

The only downside? Ever since then, virtually EVERY band has had to write a ballad about being on the road -- and most of them suck. Or does "Faithfully" by Journey or "Wherever I May Roam" by Metallica float your boat? Not mine.

Bon Jovi's "Dead or Live" boats.

Wait, why is Moonlight Mile about being on the road, I mean other than "on the road" being in the lyrics? I never took as a some saga of the alleged drudgery of touring, which I'm sure the Stones didn't invent. I thought it was about some dude who got busted, chain hacked all day, drained, lying on his prison bunk, getting all ready to solo.

Altamont Excellent song on an excellent album. But I will say this about Sticky Fingers, I can't stand I Got The Blues or Sister Morphine. Those 2 songs are the reason why I will never pick Sticky Fingers as their best. Accuse me of blasphemy all ya want. I Got The Blues is a go nowhere sleepwalker and Morphine is a dopey song about dope. skip em every time.

The way Mick sings "Well it....just goes to show....things are not what they seem....." is one of the highlights of Sticky Fingers - applies to almost every human sitch you find in life, or at least for some people it does. If you're the type that can convince yourself of the way you wish things were rather easily, it probably makes absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever.

"When It?s Love"

Written by:
Edward Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, Michael Bolton, Michael Anthony, Alex Van Halen, Valerie Bertinelli, Barry Manilow and Wolfgang Van Halen's Nanny.
---
Everybody?s lookin? for somethin?
Somethin? to fill in the holes
We think a lot but don?t talk much about it
?Til things get out of control
How do I know when it?s love
I can?t tell you but it lasts forever
How does feel when it?s love
It?s just something you feel together
When it?s love
You look at every face in a crowd
some shine and some keep you guessin?
Waiting for someone to come into focus
Teach you your final love lesson
Hod I know when it?s love
I can?t tell you but it lasts forever
How does feel when it?s love
It?s just something you feel together
(Solo)
Oh oh oh oh
Oh when it?s love
Oh oh oh oh
You can feel it yeah
Oh oh oh oh
Nothing?s missing
Yeah
(Solo)
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Nothing?s missing
How do I know when it?s love
I can?t tell you but it lasts forever
How does it feel when it?s love
It?s just something you feel together
How do I know when it?s love
I can?t tell you but it lasts forever
When it?s love
When it?s love
It?ll lasts forever
When it?s love
You and I
We?re gonna feel this thing together
When it?s love
When it?s love, baby
You can feel it, yeah
We?ll make it last forever
When it?s love.

Bruno
The thing I like the best there is the very last vocal from Mick, that "baby ah ah ah ah ah ah..." the way he vocalizes that "ah ah ah" is a recorded proof that Mick can be a fucking genius.

A song built by the two Micks. Makes me wonder how many more gems would exist if they have worked together more.

This one need a little work I would say - but at least they tried:

thejuf Tim Ries did a wonderful MM on one of his solo albums.
awesome...

Carol Sigmaringa Great song, great album! One of my top favorites.
Begins with the Brown Sugar energy and ends with the great Moonlight Mile lyrics and melody.

So relaxing...
21st January 2007 05:21 PM
speedfreakjive although Keith doesn't play on Moonlight Mile, he is credited for the song naturally, and I think that I have read somewhere that he wrote the 'Chinese/Eastern' guitar part that appears throughout the song.

WattsAtScotts Beautiful song....

Bingo I do these little bits called "Songs with Art" I've done quite a few to Rolling Stones songs, here's my Moonlight Mile one.

When the wind blows and the rain feels cold

With a head full of snow
With a head full of snow

In the window there痴 a face you know
Don稚 the nights pass slow
Don稚 the nights pass slow

The sound of strangers sending nothing to my mind
Just another mad mad day on the road

I am just living to be lying by your side
But I知 just about a moonlight mile on down the road

Made a rag pile of my shiny clothes
Gonna warm my bones
Gonna warm my bones

I got silence on my radio
Let the air waves flow
Let the air waves flow

Oh I知 sleeping under strange strange skies

Just another mad mad day on the road
My dreams is fading down the railway line
I知 just about a moonlight mile down the road

I知 hiding sister and I知 dreaming
I知 riding down your moonlight mile
I知 hiding baby and I知 dreaming
I知 riding down your moonlight mile
I知 riding down you moonlight mile

Let it go now, come on up babe
Yeah, let it go now
Yeah, flow now baby
Yeah move on now yeah

Yeah, I知 coming home
団ause, I知 just about a moonlight mile on down the road
Down the road, down the road

Are you serious? Wow....I Got The Blues, imo, is beautiful with some of the most intense Mick vocals I've ever heard. It's one of the reasons why this album is one of my favorites. To each his own!

Saint Sway let me try this...
done to the lyrics of Van Halen's "Everybody Wants Some"

You can't get romantic on a subway line
Conductor don't like it, says, "You're wastin' your time"

But everybody wants some!
Eddie Van Halen wants some too
Eddie Van Halen wants some!
Baby, how 'bout you?

Oh! Oh yeah!

I took a mobile light, lookin' for a moonbeam. Ow!
Yeah, ya stand in line ya got lost in a jet stream

Ooh, everybody wants some!
Eddie Van Halen wants some too
Eddie Van Halen wants some!
Baby, how 'bout you?

Yeah!
(Adlib jungle sounds)

Woo! Where'd you get that shit?
Oh, yeah

I like....
I like the little way the line runs up the back of the stockings

I've always liked those kind of high heels, too, ya know I...
No, no, no, no don't take 'em off. Don't take...leave 'em on

Yeah, that's it...a little more to the right

Ooh, everybody wants some!
Eddie Van Halen wants some too

Eddie Van Halen wants some!
Baby, how 'bout you?

Eddie Van Halen wants some!
Eddie Van Halen wants some!
Eddie Van Halen wants some!
Eddie Van Halen wants some!

Ah yeah!
Ahhh yeah!

Look, I'll pay ya for it, what the fuck?

Some Guy Funny, dude is out of control!

Reunion Off!
I have now heard from a good source (Harvey Goldsmith employee) that the VH 07 summer tour is now off after David & his team failed to agree terms with the Van Halen management.

I have not heard anything regarding the HOF appearence.
