Some Guy Greatest song Ever??

When the wind blows and the rain feels cold
With a head full of snow
With a head full of snow
In the window there's a face you know
Don't the nights pass slow
Don't the nights pass slow

The sound of strangers sending nothing to my mind
Just another mad mad day on the road
I am just living to be dying by your side
But I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road

Made a rag pile of my shiny clothes
Gonna warm my bones
Gonna warm my bones
I got silence on my radio
Let the air waves flow
Let the air waves flow

Oh I'm sleeping under strange strange skies
Just another mad mad day on the road
My dreams is fading down the railway line
I'm just about a moonlight mile down the road

I'm hiding sister and I'm dreaming
I'm riding down your moonlight mile
I'm hiding baby and I'm dreaming
I'm riding down your moonlight mile
I'm riding down you moonlight mile

Let it go now, come on up babe
Yeah, let it go now
Yeah, flow now baby
Yeah move on now yeah

Yeah, I'm coming home
'Cause, I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road
Down the road, down the road

sirmoonie What? That Japanese thing?

One of their best, lyrics are amazing, and its great finale to Sticky Fingers.

GotToRollMe One of my top 10 favorite Stones songs, and one of 10 reasons why "Sticky Fingers" is my favorite Stones album.

"I am just livin' to be dyin' by your side..."

And then the way the music builds up at "Let it go now..." and hits a crescendo at "Yeah, I'm comin' home"...

..ah, perfection.

Ya know, I never had a good enough sound system to tell whether he was saying "dying" or "lying" - ah hell, they both work for me.

Definitely up there with Salt of the Earth, You Can't Always Get What You Want, and Mean Disposition.

Navin Looks like I might not be a Stones fan after all...I only like the hard-driving, three-chord rocking, three-minute clocking ones by them...and maybe "Beast of Burden" being the one exception.
18th January 2007 08:03 AM
Lord Homosex The Stones version is of course the one and only, and first and last word on it, but I just am listening to the wonderful cover by Alvin Youngblood. "Paint it Blue" album.

Honky Tonk Man It's a wonderfully beautiful song from an era when the Stones really new how to excel themselves and were a truely awe inspiring band.

TampabayStone A perfect ending to a perfect album.

Yes, but I could not hear dick up in my nose bleeds til they went to the b-stage. Jacked my girl up for weeks about how great the show was going to be and the sound was so bad, I had to really listen hard to even make out the songs. Never sat that high again and never will.

glencar Just for you as I leave for the ski slopes...
