Those figures are bollocks. That venue holds in excess of 21,000 people and even being an all seated show and having a b-stage no way was there only a 14,000 capacity at those shows.
MSG was reported as holding about 15,000 for the Stones shows there and having seen them at both venues, no way is MSG a bigger arena than the 02. |

Led Zeppelin capacity was 17,799 and Spice Girls (also B Stage and seats behind the stage blocked out) 15,419. |

Bizarre indeed, but your figure seems to make sense. The place holds about 17,500 according to wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O2_Arena#The_O2_arena
Yet last year that same site stated that the venue held from 20,000 - 22,000.

I think what is surprising is that the O2 (according to this) wasn't sold out. I went to the last show and I'm sure a significant percentage of fans were from outside the UK. What happened to all the UK fans? Couldn't they be bothered to go?
I'm also very disappointed in my Danish side of the family. What happened to selling out there in 2003? Tired of the band are we? |

They had played the UK the year before. The shows were sold out OK..several times, as they occasionally made 'new' seats available, especially just before the show.
About 80% of the tickets were a ridiculous £150. Any promoter who makes 'new' tickets available two or three days before the show and expect people to pay £150 plus charges, AND book flights and hotels at that short notice, is delusional. |
