Ronnie Wood Recovering From Hernia Surgery
Picked up on Rolling Stones tour....
By: C Taylor on 12/01/2008 12:24:21
Ronnie Wood is recovering at home from an operation after he gave himself a hernia on the Rolling Stones' current tour.
The 60-year-old guitarist underwent surgery last week after suffering the injury on the Stones' 'Bigger Bang' tour.
A spokesperson says, "He doesn't know exactly the moment it happened, just that it happened while he was on tour and that it got progressively more uncomfortable.
"He waited until after Christmas to have the operation last week and is now resting. He's meant to be taking two months off but, knowing Ronnie, he'll be back on his feet sooner rather than later."
Rock'n'roll, eh?

Ronnie Wood recovers from surgery
Ronnie Wood recently published his autobiography
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is recovering following an operation for a hernia, a spokeswoman has confirmed.
The 60-year-old has been told to rest for two months after the procedure, which took place last week.
According to the musician's publicist, he sustained the injury during the band's recent Bigger Bang tour, but delayed surgery until after Christmas.
"Knowing Ronnie, he'll be back on his feet sooner rather than later," said the star's spokeswoman.
She added that veteran performer Wood was unsure exactly when the problem initially surfaced.
The Rolling Stones, renowned for their extensive tours, were the highest earners in music between June 2006 and 2007 according to US business publication Forbes, making £43m.
Wood and band member Keith Richards courted controversy at London's O2 arena in August when they flouted a smoking ban and lit up in stage.
But the pair escaped a fine after the local authority were satisfied the incident was a "one-off".
In 2000, Wood was involved in an incident at the Brit Awards ceremony when the stage was invaded by DJ Brandon Block while he was co-presenting an award.
He aimed an insult at Block who retaliated, and Wood then threw a drink over the musician.
