I reAlly love this CD...I just picked it up for 5 bucks and I love it...I have heard Memo...and Fanny before as well as Out of time...but the rest...are totally new to me...What exactly is this album...It's like a b-side/rareity cd...but its not...
Is it generally well regarded?
ps...Love "Rather be w/ the Boys" |

i listened to it this weekend...I enjoy it very much as well. It is basically a collection of outtakes from when the band was under the "Abcko" label (or maybe Decca?) and was released in the mid seventies to make the label some cash while the stones were on top of the musical world. |

most of the early songs arent actually performed by the Stones but are demos for other artists, featuring Mick and Keith and some session musicians. The version of Out of Time for example is essentially the same backing track that Chris Farlow used, but with a new vocal.
the 1968-69 stuff is good fun but songs like Jiving Sister Fanny and I'm Goin' Down are obviously lyrically unfinished.
I actually didnt own this on CD, but bought it in Bleeker Records in NY on Saturday night! |

"I Don't Know Why I Love You" and "I'm Going Down" are my two favorites off of that one. |
