New docus on Beatles, Stones to air
TORONTO (CP) -- The Beatles: A Long and Winding Road is a new five-part series that looks at the history of the Fab Four and which airs on Star, the entertainment information channel, over five nights, next Monday to Friday.
Making its Canadian premiere, the series travels the whole road, from Liverpool to Beatlemania to their elevation to musical and cultural icon status.
Then, in February, it's the Stones' turn.
The Rolling Stones -- Just For the Record is also five hour-long instalments, each covering a decade in the lives of what's been called the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band.
They will air from Sunday, Feb. 16 to Thursday, Feb. 20. (Check local listings for time).
Both documentaries are from the U.S.-based Passport Entertainment and both will become available on VHS and DVD on March 18. |

Is that 5 hours on each decade?
I'm sure it is an hour each.

And, if you go to amazon.com you can pre-order the DVD set for a mere $37 if I remember correctly. Sounds too cheap for a 5 disc set, but I ain't gonna complain. |

Oh that should read 5 one hour long installments, I'm sure.

Maxy, you make gypsy giggle.

THIS I'll buy.
I saved money by avoiding that 40 Ass Fucks in the Fans Ass album!

Say what you want Maxy, but 40 Licks hasn't been out of my car CD player for months. I don't have to drag a big pile of CDs with me....just that one little jewel case.
It serves it's purpose. I'm glad I own it. |
|
Maxlugar |
But EssEssy!
Surely you had the tunes already and could have made your own 40 Licks.
Aside for the four new songs, which pretty much bite anyway.
|
|
Nasty Habits |
Wet Noodles and Long Planks was a disappointment to me, too Max. But those new songs do not entirely bite. Well, Stealing My Heart might entirely bite, but Losing My Touch is pretty great, and I still think you are deliberately blocking Don't Stop's sweet and smokin' groove. Why deny yourself the groove Maxy? The groove is in your heart.

The few times I heard it on the radio were enough for me.
If I want smokin' grooves I key in disk 35 on my CD player.
Disk 35? Why disk 35 Maxy?
Well, you see Disk 35 is a little album called Dirty Work.
'Nuff said!

Dirty Work was never used as background music for surfing kiddie porn sites though.

For regular porn sites, though, it is fine background music.
At least, that's what I hear... |

True Nanky!
Real men like Dirty Work.
It's like an old rusted sledge hammer that feels familiar and comforting in your hands. Sometimes you walk around the house just looking for excuses to use it.
Such is Dirty Work.
Such is love.
Maxy!
And now,

I just don't get it !!! What could anyone possible see in " Dirty Work " . It just doesn't make sense . I mean , when you really look at it .................OH Oh ................Oh , Sh## ! :
" As I walked through that hospital door
I was sewn up like a coat
I got a smile from the bite of the wind
Watched the fresh fall of snow
I knew then that my life took a turn
I felt strong and secure
And with adhesive tape over my nose
I felt almost demure
Goodbye Sister Disco
With your flashing trash lamps
Goodbye Sister Disco
And to your clubs and your tramps
Goodbye Sister Disco
My dancing's left you behind
Goodbye, now you're solo
Black plastic; deaf, dumb and blind
Bye, goodbye Sister Disco, Now I go
I go where the music where the music fits my soul
And I, I will never let go, I'll never let go
'Til the echo of the street fight has dissolved
I will choose nightmares and cold stormy seas
I will take over your grief and disease
I'll stay beside you and comfort your soul
When you are lonely and broken and old
Now I walk with a man in my face
Ooh, a woman in my hair
I've got you all lookin' out though my eyes
My feet are a prayer
Goodbye Sister Disco
With your flashing trash lamps
Goodbye Sister Disco
And to your clubs and your tramps
Goodbye Sister Disco
My dancing's left you behind
Goodbye, now you're solo
Black plastic; deaf, dumb and blind "

I like Dirty Work.
Especially Had it With You. |

Maxy...
I've made tons of Stones compilations. Not the point. I didn't make this one. The Rolling Stones made it....with 4 new songs....and a poster. I wanted it, I bought it, I enjoy it.
What is the big deal? It OBVIOUSLY is being enjoyed by millions of people all over the world....AND it spawned the Licks Tour, in support of it. I KNOW that you've enjoyed the Licks Tour...I saw that with my very own eyes.
So go ahead and kick 40 Licks all you want, just remember that it served a purpose. |
