Topic: Tribute in Uncut Magazine Return to archive

Lazy Bones Don't recall reading about this yet (pls. pardon if so), February's issue of Uncut Magazine features a 40-year tribute to the Stones. And, to my surprise, the purchase included a free tribute cd (one of a 2-volume set). The cd is ok - some tracks are good, others are an insult.
I haven't read much yet, but it looks in-depth. Including a list a of personalities from the music industry that rate/comment on their "top 40" tracks.
If I remember correctly, Gimme Shelter was first.
Anyone else have or seen this?

It's actually the first time I've read material from Uncut - not too familiar with quality of material researched. Not bad for $9.95 (Cdn).

padre Yeah, the Stones Issue is great! A jury voted the top 40, but there's also Keith's, Mick's and Ronnie's Top Tens too. There's actually two different versions around with different covers (60's and 70's) and different cd's! For a very reasoable amount of money you'll get loads of great or funny Stones covers. I bought 'em both and I advice you do the same. No, I don't work for Uncut.

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board.
The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
